We stayed in Carcassonne for 2 nights and the hotel was exactly what we needed for a short stay. The check in process was easy and friendly. They even offered to split the bill between our two individual credit cards which was exactly what we wanted, but had wrongly assumed would not be possible. At check in we were provided with an excellent map of the town and a guide to the region. The receptionist also marked the best walking route into town for us.

The hotel is clean, simply furnished and colour co-ordinated throughout. The shower worked perfectly and hot water was immediate and plentiful. Air conditioning was quiet and effective-even though it was 32 degrees outside.

Tea and coffee facilities are provided in the rooms and as the hotel is situated on the edge of a retail park you can walk within 2 mins to the supermarche to buy whatever food you want. However the hotel also provides reasonably priced meals.

The hotel website refers to the number 1 bus from the airport which stops nearby the hotel. We used this bus there and back to the airport. Cross the main road outside the airport, go down rue Jacques Vaucanson , then turn left at the end into R.Henri Bouffet - bus-stop is by a roundabout. It is more convenient than the dedicated airport shuttle as the No.1 takes you right across the city to where the hotel is ( St Georges). The bus has a screen showing what the next stop is going to be so you know when to get off. It is only 1euro each way as opposed to 5 on the airport shuttle. We caught the 15.32 hrs from near the airport. The bus company also has an office in Carcassonne ( near the Dome, Rue Georges Brassens) and they are very helpful with any queries if you want to do any trips by bus.

Campanile Hotels are generally of a mid standard range. This one is very good. Whilst it is located on the edge of an industrial estate, it is well placed for the Narbonne exit off the autoroute. It is also only 15 minutes walk from the Old cite. We stayed here for a concert by Mark Knopfler in the cite. The room was clean. We missed the breakfast time the following morning but le patron kindly bought us breakfast which was good of him.

Next time we are going to Carcassonne for the festival we would definitely consider staying here again.

The location is a little bit strange: at the edge of a shoping center.
BUT: near to the highway and reasonable distance (by car) from the old city.
The hotel is modern, with LARGE and comfortable rooms.
Staff is friendly and helpful.
Breakfast is good and restaunt serves good dinners.

The rooms were clean and comfortable with ac. The hotel is not very far from the Castle. Our rooms had view of the castle. The breakfast is okay nothing much to say. Staff was very helpful and warm.

Would recommend the breakfast to have more warm dishes such as omeletes.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms with Castle view

I booked this hotel due to its location 5 minutes away from the autoroute and 10 minutes away from the medieval town. The hotel seems fairly new, and is set in a commercial area close to car dealerships and a supermarket.

The reception team were courteous, but there were a few issues. For example, the elevator was broken on arrival and still not functioning the next morning. Wifi barely functioned in my room which was quite far from reception- I am told they are addressing this- so check ahead if you need it.

The room was clean but I am not a fan of the Campanile's design- too garish for my taste.

Breakfast was a reasonably-priced buffet with a good choice of food. I'm not a fan of the overuse of lime green in the room, but for a quick overnight stay the hotel was OK.
