We found this hotel online and chose to stay due to its convenient and special location inside the citadel. While all went well at check-in, several things were disappointing due to the high price tag of the hotel. I called reception on the first evening to take up the front desk's offer to make dinner reservations at a nearby restaurant. Never received a call back, and instead my husband and I proactively decided to make our own reservations at a nearby restaurant. In addition, beware of their falsely representative promotions touting their spa. After calling the desk and inquiring about availability for a massage, I was smutly advised that all appointment slots from Tuesday-Thursday are fully booked at capacity. For a hotel which was once probably highly fashionable and luxurious in its hey-day, this was quite the unexpected disappointment.
Finally, note that not all rooms are created equal at all. Due to our late check in (driving from Catalonia), we were placed in a room on the 1st floor (2nd to US standards) directly over a pedestrian street. Our bathtub had some mold on it. Not what I would expect from a five star hotel.More
