5 minutes walk to the old city. <10 Euro ride from the train station. Our room offered a beautiful view of the old city as well as the valley and ridge beyond. The breeze was great, we slept with the windows wide open. Friendly staff.

This hotel is part of the Mercure chain, similar in the US to Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, or such. The rooms were comfortable, and cozy, and breakfast was quite good. It is convenient to medieval Carcassone - about a 5-10 minute walk. The pool is quite nice as well. All in all, a nice, fairly typical chain-type hotel.
Lovely hotel within 5 mins walk of medieval city. Rooms good although small they are modern . The outside areas are lovely and pool nice. Good terra e for drinks or breakfast etc. car park handy. Would really recommend I found it be recently decorated and a good find.
Just returned from three nights at this wonderful hotel.
The location for visiting the walled city of Carcassonne could not be better with only a maximum ten minute easy walk to the front entrance.
The hotel itself is very nice and there have been some room renovations since we were here last year, most of the amenities (fridge, TV, coffee machine etc) have been upgraded as well as the bathroom. All very nice and more than comfortable.
The restaurant was great and I found the food wonderful, just the right sized portions and perfectly cooked. Breakfast was also quite good (not a big breakfast eater) and the staff kept fresh food and breads right up until breakfast finished.
The pool was great and the view from the hotel over the walled city was very spectacular and with all the fireworks for Bastille Day (about 20 minutes worth) made for a wonderful time.
The staff were all more than willing to help and most spoke very good English and could not do enough to help, especially at the front desk.
The hotel is easily accessed by road and is situated only a stone-throw away from La Porte Narbonnaise which is the main entrance to the Cite. As always with Mercure, the hotel is stylish, the rooms are simple but nice and the bathrooms very modern. The swimming pool is a great asset to help cool down after a hot day of sightseeing. The breakfast is very good and whilst we did not try it (it would have been a shame not to eat out in the Cite as we were only staying for one night), the restaurant seems nice with a good range of wines to choose from.
All in all a very good hotel, ideally situated, with a free car park and ever so helpful staff.
I thoroughly recommend it.... (booking online and in advance to get the best deals)
