A nice hotel with friendly staff. Very close to the medieval fortress. Nice pool. The breakfast was not included in the price and the cost for one night was quite expensive. I would recommend this hotel.

We stayed here for a couple of nights as part of a group organised by a respected travel company. The hotel is very convenient for the old city, only a few minutes walk away. Our room was large (a king size double bed + sofa which would have made a third bed I assume), very clean, air-conditioned with tea and coffee and complimentary soft drinks in the mini bar -a very thoughtful touch. Breakfast was excellent: large choice + hot food as well. There is an outdoor area for drink and food which is a great place to sit in the evening. Because we were booked as a group, our travel company had clearly made a deal on our evening meal. The food was quite adequate, but no choice was offered, although after some negotiation by our leader, they did come up with a vegetarian alternative to the pate and beans and meat stew on the last night! On the down side, the management could do with investing in some courses for the staff who supervise the restaurant. There was one young man who was dressed appropriately for a 4* hotel and knew how to serve. But the woman in charge telling the other couple of young girls where to 'plock' the dishes, needs firstly a lesson in how you dress in such a restaurant (loose blouse and black track-suit bottoms are not acceptable) secondly a lesson in how to smile and thirdly a lesson in how to place food in front of guests. The service in the actual restaurant area -we were placed in the conference room for dinner and breakfast - looked a great deal better, but with 45 guests from our party occupying a large number of their rooms, they are making enough money from the tour company and make sure every staff member has appropriate people skills!

We stayed here for two nights to explore this fantastic area . The hotel is just outside the old city and is very easy to walk to . They have a good sized free car park and a cute swimming pool if it ever stopped blowing to use it !
Not much to say other than that , the rooms are a reasonable size and clean . We did not have the breakfast - you can do a lot better and cheaper outside .

I booked this hotel on the Mercure website on a non-cancellable 'hot deal'. The price starts in £s then converts to Euros so I ended paying £10 in conversion rates. When I discovered that other websites were advertising the same deal for about £100 less I phoned and emailed to complain but received absolutely no rebate or satisfactory explanation as it was not within 24 hours of booking. On arrival at the hotel (which is ideally close for visiting the medieval city) I discovered that I had been charged the FULL rack rate for the first night and only a €30 rebate for the second. So much for a hot deal! The reception staff had no interest in offering any sort of compensation.
The hotel is popular with coach parties so the dining room could be quite noisy, and we were disturbed by cases being wheeled early in the morning!
The first room we were offered was the furthest most from reception, unsuitable as I am disabled. The second was small and dark and overlooked the carpark. The third was a huge disabled adapted room with doors leading on to the garden. Very nice.
We had dinner one evening. My husband's meat was raw and fatty. It was recooked but he left nearly half as it was not good. My fish dish was mediocre.
The breakfast buffet was good and the staff helpful.

Room Tip: Perhaps phone in advance or refuse to have the first room offered.

Great location for the medieval cite, secure car park, lovely gardens and having a swimming pool is a great bonus way to relax after a days site seeing.
The food in the restaurant is very good and presentation also of a good standard with a good choice for dinner and breakfast.
The staff could do with some training though there was a good welcome on arrival at the hotel, the restaurant staff do not attempt to greet you or show any interest in making sure that the food is to your liking. The wine and water were plonked down on the table with no attempt to pour these out they were not bothered to make any conversation or show you procedure for breakfast etc.
On having a pre-dinner drink in the bar one of the bar staff dropped a full glass of Gin and Tonic in front of me, though they cleared this and the broken glass up quickly no consideration was made as to the staining of this on my dress and the resulting shard of glass that cut my foot. I tried to explain about the damage and was informed that if I spoke Spanish this would be easier for her to understand ! On mentioning this on checking out the following morning the receptionist seemed perplexed and questioned why I had not been offered to have my dress dry cleaned or why I was asked to speak Spanish ( and this a French hotel ) ! They did reimburse the cost of the drinks !
The room was adequate and overlooked the car park which was quiet. The carpet could do with a clean and had a slight unpleasant tinge to it. The room was beginning to look a little tired. A light was not working which was fixed, though the electric fan in the bathroom was broken this was not mended whilst we were staying.

Fourth and final stop using up my Accor reward points and after two nights away from Accor in a huge standard room in a Kyriad Prestige near Toulon this was a disappointment. We booked a standard room for two nights. The plus points are - great location (about 350 meters from main entrance to Cite), free car parking, free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, good bathroom, sensibly priced bar (only slightly higher than Cite prices), clean pool and gardens/patio aea. Negatives - standard rooms are tiny with a small window so you're really keen to get out of it, small safe for which you have to ask for a key and they then charge you a deposit, no fridge, used by tour groups so time your visit to breakfast before or after the hoards. They did their best to keep the breakfast bar stocked but weren't completely successful which when you're paying 15 euros each is disappointing.
