“Where to get away from it all in style, comfort and great surroundings”
Reviewed 9 September 2012 for a stay in August 2012

We found Domaine du Renne on an internet search, but i could imagine how word of mouth would spread easily for such a lovely place. This is a gite which comfortably accommodated the four of us (two adults, two children), and had attached to one side another slightly smaller place, which was perfect for the Grandparents. They could have their quiet time in the shade on their patio if they wanted, whilst our two spent hours and hours in and out of the excellent swimming pool. The peaceful surroundings were superb with views of the neighbouring vineyards to gaze at whilst we supped the local speciality- Blanquette de Limoux. A trip to the magnificent Carcassone castle is a must, but we wouldn't bother with Andorra again given the horrendously slow traffic all heading to get their duty free booze and cigarettes.Back at the gites the owner couldn't have been more helpful with tips of places to go,wines to try and restaurants to eat at-all of which were taken up!

“Peaceful & tranquil”
Reviewed 6 September 2012 for a stay in August 2012

Set in idyllic surroundings, these gites have been recently renovated to a very high standard. The bathrooms are bright & modern with showers. Facilities include a flat screen T.V. dishwasher, BBQ & the use of a washing machine. There was a welcome pack including jam cheese etc. which is a really nice touch.
The nearest town, Limoux is around 10 miniutes away by car. In the town square there are plenty of restaurants to choose from & there are 2 large supermarkets nearby to buy essentials.
If you want to explore, there are plenty of interesting places to visit however, we spent most of our time relaxing by the beautiful pool.

Carcasson is AMAZING would highly recommend visiting

Owners Hal and Louise were great, very welcoming and knowledgeable of surrounding area.
The owners 2 dogs, Milo and Matilda are lovely and great company when out walking in the owners woodland :)

“Excellent standard gite in beautiful location”
Reviewed 18 July 2012 for a stay in July 2012

This is by far the best standard French gite we have stayed in both in terms of decor (newly refurbished this year) and facilities. Hal is a great host and provides everything from loo roll to washing powder, so that all you need to bring are your clothes. The gite is in a peaceful location with great views over the surrounding coutryside and grape vines as far as the eye can see. The vineyard right next door is an added bonus. The local riverside town of Limoux has all you could need in terms of restuarants, bars and charm, but is a good 10-15 minute drive away so a car is essential. Carcassone is a just a 30 minute drive away and well worth a visit.

“Great host, great gite, great surroundings - a must”

We visited Hal's place last year and a fantastic time despite ever changing weather.

Greeted by Hal and his canine friends on arrival (Milo is a dog you will never forget) to a lovely cottage in stunning surroundings. The cottage was lovely - well furnished, very clean with a lovely welcome pack of cheese and wine.( The wine is from the vineyard on your doorstep. A visit to the cave and Sophie is well worth the visit but walk dont drive!)
The pool is right next to cottage and pleanty big enough to accommodate all the guests at one time.

If you want a relaxing peaceful holiday then this place is unbeatable.
We visited Cathart castles, Carcassonne and several of the local markets in towns and villages nearby. Also some lovely walks in the area. We went out in the mornings and then came back to sit beside the pool admiring the scenery until late in the evening. A great holiday.

Finally Hal is improving the gites. From our experience he doeant need to but what was a fantastic place with become even more memorable. We will return.
