“Immaculate gite in a picturesque vineyard setting”
Reviewed 9 May 2014 for a stay in April 2014

Our stay at les jasmins was made even more perfect thanks to the wonderful host, who was on hand to provide great local knowledge. The stone cottage was tastefully decorated, well appointed and quiet, clean and comfortable. A welcome package was a thoughtful gesture. We loved it and will be back.

“Quiet, luxuriously comfortable and immaculately clean.”
Reviewed 3 October 2013 for a stay in June 2013

May/June 2013 was our second visit to Les Jasmins. Tricia and Steve, are delightful and gracious hosts. The cottage is situated in the middle of a working vineyard, in a remote location on the top of a hill. As a result the views all around are spectacular. Although amenities are reasonably close, a car is essential. Inside, the cottage is extremely comfortable, quiet and is spotlessly clean. The kitchen is fully equipped, (including microwave). There is a family bathroom, plus an additional single loo, which certainly is a "loo with an amazing view". There is a welcome pack awaiting you upon arrival, which includes wine from the vineyard. The closest town is the charming Limoux, with riverside walk and a wide choice of restaurants, supermarkets, etc. If you simply want a cup of coffee in the morning, the lovely little village of Alaigne is the place to go, which is a five minute drive away. All in all, we cannot recommend Les Jasmins highly enough. We will be back.

“An ideal place to unwind”
Reviewed 2 October 2013 for a stay in September 2013

Stayed here with friends fo a week. Very easy to get to from Carcassonne airport. Absolutely amazing views from this gite. Vineyards and pretty hillside villages all around. Stayed during the vendage and it was lovely to drink the wine grown just outside the door! The owner has gone the 'extra' mile in the renovation of this gite and provides a clean. tidy and beutifully decorated place to stay. With the choice of 2 patios to relax on, peace and quiet and accessibility to many beautiful places to visit it was a winner. The area is still very 'rural France with the traditions of French life still kept. We will definitely visit again.
Thankyou for a fantastic stay

“Simply perfect!”
Reviewed 20 September 2013 for a stay in September 2013

We've stayed here numerous times, and particularly enjoy visiting the area during the "vendage"--the grape harvest in Sept./Oct. The gite itself is always immaculate, the decor very tastefully French, the situation is the best in France--to our mind;-), and having the friendly, yet discreet, owners next door is always helpful. You could sleep 4 here, with the two bedrooms spacious and beautifully furnished, with lovely views. Breakfast in the sunny front garden is my treat to start each day. We've got our favourite areas to visit each time we come, and have also found a few little gems over the year. This trip we lunched at Domaine Gayda, only 5 minutes drive from here. In the afternoon we discovered a small cafe hidden away in Alet-les-Bains, on the other side of Limoux--the nearest town to Fournery. Limoux itself is a delightful little town, with numerous cafes and restaurants, and a large LeClerc. The local wine is available at the Caves du Razes, 5 minutes away. Then there's La Galloise, in the next village, owned by an Englishman and his Welsh wife (hence the name). One could go on and on, but to be able to return to a glass of wine on the terrace in the evening, watching the sun go down over the vineyard is all you could ever want in life.

Les Jasmins is an old cottage, tastefully and immaculately updated to a very high standard. It is the best of many gites we have stayed in over the past twenty years.

Once you have been blown away by the delightful interior, prepare yourself for something better still - the view from the rear terrace; acres of rolling hills carpeted with vineyards. Photographs don't really do it justice. You could easily spend a week just walking/cycling in the local countryside.

Further afield, Les Jasmins is a short, easy drive away from Carcassonne and a number of other, much less visited, attractive spots.

The owners, Trish and Steve are on hand next door if you need help. They are unobtrusive, though, and take every care to respect your privacy.

If you are wondering how such a fantastic gite is available at such a low rental, don't worry - it puzzled us too. We've had quite acceptable gites that were half as good but at nearly twice the price. I'd book quickly before Trish and Steve read this review.
