My husband and I stayed at Domaine d'Auriac during our honeymoon. After a week in Paris, we were absolutely exhausted and Domaine d'Auriac provided us a wonderful, relaxing, comfortable, and homelike stay!

After a long day on the train, we were welcomed warmly by Jessica at the front desk and shown to our suite (gorgeous! It was the one with the cream-colored curtains pictured in the visitors' photos above) which was spacious and comfortable, with a large and beautiful bathroom. Any time we needed anything, the staff were right there to help!

We had dinner in the hotel that night, and each of the three nights we stayed. On a cold and rainy night, the cassoulet was perfect, and we tried different dishes every night, each of which was amazingly delicious! We also ate lunch one day at the Bistro d'Auriac, which was wonderful, as well.

We were unfortunate with respect to the weather (it was rather rainy that weekend), so we were unable to take advantage of the beautiful swimming pool. However, we were able to walk to la Cité, which took about an hour along the riverside trail. It was a very pleasant walk, and very romantic!

Over the weekend, we felt as though we were welcomed into Madame Rigaudis-Calvet's own home, and when it was time to leave, it seemed we were saying "goodbye" to old friends.

During our trip to France, we stayed in four hotels in total: A boutique hotel in Paris, Domaine d'Auriac, a vineyard in Montpellier, and a luxury spa hotel just outside St. Tropez. Of the four (which were all excellent), Domaine d'Auriac had the friendliest staff, the most spacious room, and the warmest atmosphere. We hope to return someday!

A well run, friendly, elegant hotel in beautiful grounds. There is a golf course next to the gardens.
Welcoming, helpful reception from all personnel. The manager is warm and efficient. The restaurant is superb and well known, and has an extensive wine list. The service in the restaurant was above average as we asked for something not on the menu on our second night and even though, the restaurant was fully booked, we were accommodated. The scrambled eggs for breakfast were absolutely delicious.
All the staff seem to turn their hand to everything from carrying bags to connecting one to the Internet.
We would highly recommend this hotel .

Room tip: We chose a standard room but I think the next level would give a larger room. The room, small though it was, was elegantly decorated.

A great stay, unfortunately it was for only 1 night. My room was a very spacious suite. Three of us were on the 2nd floor and all the rooms were decorated differently. The bathrooms were beautiful and looked new. The staff was very friendly and helpful. You could relax in their beautiful garden by the pool. On nice days you can eat outside.

What a relief to retire to the comforts of the Domaine d'Auriac after the theme park madness of Carcassonne (much nicer at night, after dinner, when the tourist hordes have retreated and the spectacular lighting brings out the best in the reinvented battlements). A family-run hotel, operated with quiet pride, the hotel reminds me of shabby-chic establishments my parents patronized 50 years ago across Europe. The rooms are nothing special, but have a homey charm in keeping with the establishment's ethos. The Michelin-starred restaurant gave us an excellent, earthy meal - no flights of fancy here - with only one deficit: a curiously sparse and unimaginative cheese tray. Breakfast in the hotel's lovely garden was glorious. Would we return? Yes, with great pleasure.
