Lovely clean hotel, towels changed daily. Breakfast usual continental croissants, cold meat etc. No bar no other meals available although plenty of restaurants short walk away. Vending machine with snacks and drinks in reception area and small availability of gifts. Reason for 4 stars rooms very small.

Nice and close to the city. 300 m walk up and you can enter the Narbonne gate. Hotel has parking. No fridge and bit noisy. But to see the city perfect. Breakfast french and standard
People at reception speaking English.

Pretty surprised at the amount of negativity towards Hotel Espace Cite. Carcassone is basically a historical playground, drawing visitors from far and wide to gaze at its immaculate walls and keep that has been round for ages, henceforth you are staying in the middle of a massive tourist trap!

Hotel Espace Cite is a perfect place to rest your head. It's totally no frills but in a place as beautiful as Carcassone do you want to be stuck in your room? The rooms are modern but small. Our room, 114, was quiet with great air conditioning. The bed was a bit hard and small but fine for one night. Check in was a breeze and because we attempted French, warm and helpful. We had a TV, great water pressure and free wifi.

Real success for one night at a very reasonable rate.

Terrible. Opened the front door and had to walk through the bathroom to get into the room. 4O degrees and at least 2 of us had no ac. Breakfast a pity, no one could figure out how to work the coffee machine (instructions only in french and even the instructions were not clear for the french guests) juice machine stated fresh squeezed and dribbled out watered down concentrate, huge croissants which were probably frozn for centuries. The staff was not helpful and no smiles were to be seen.

Excellent location, a few minutes walk to the Medieval town of Carcassonne. Free parking which was very useful. The view from the breakfast room was superb. I'd recommend paying a bit extra for a room with a view of the old town as ours looked onto the wall of the car park entrance. Breakfast was good for the price, the rooms were compact but clean and well laid out.
