The location of this four 'apartment' building is within the ancient castle walls.
It is within a minute or so of restaurants but far enough away from the main street to be quiet.
Fridge, crockery, coffee, butter, jam & cooking facilities in rooms. Fresh bread delivered every morning for breakfast.
Not a 5 star Hilton (nothing is within the castle walls) - MUCH MUCH BETTER.

Note: Free parking for people staying within the “Cite” is available but not well publicized.
This car park is directly against the castle wall to the left of the drawbridge , the entrance to which you get to by going around the cemetery.
The barrier is manned by a security guard who will open it on proof of stay.
We originally parked in the public car park which cost 5 Euros for 6 hours.

We booked the place for a single night in February. The location was perfect, off the beaten track of the Old Cite, but not too far out. The rustic decor of Room 1 (which we had) was perfectly in keeping with the atmosphere, the bed was surprisingly comfortable, and I simply fell in love! The only thing I would count as a negative, and it is a small one at that, is that as an American, I would expect more than simply a dry loaf of bread. A couple of croissants, some fruit, perhaps. But again, that was a very small quibble! I loved the place and would love to return! The other odd thing is that you will never see anyone like a caretaker or landlord. It's very much self-service.

Having read the mixed reviews, we weren't quite sure what to expect on arrival, but had decided to book the hotel as we were only staying 2 nights and it seemed much cheaper than any other hotel within the city walls.

I have to say we were delighted with the room. It is a small hotel, as you would expect as it is literally built into the remparts, but the room was spotless (cleaned every day) and nicely decorated. There was a fridge with milk, butter and jams, microwave, coffee maker, small table and chairs, hob, cutlery and pots and pans. Fresh baguettes were delivered each morning for breakfast and as we were leaving for an early flight before the baguettes were delivered, the owner bought us some biscuits instead the night before.

We booked the studio room which I can recommend - it was 64 euros per night for the room but having had a peek at the other rooms was definitely larger, the standard rooms did look a little cramped.

The bathroom was small but adequate, with a surprisingly powerful shower.

If you are used to staying in 4 star luxury hotels or if you are travelling with a lot of baggage then Les Logis de Remparts is probably not the place for you, but I would point out that you cannot drive into the city walls during the day so you will have the same problem transporting luggage at any hotel within the city walls and may be better looking for somewhere outside the walls.

However, for a unique experience I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

A few pointers about Carcassonne - the airport bus was over half an hour late for our return flight so we ended up getting a taxi with another couple which was cheaper than the bus between 4.

Highly recommend Le Passage tapas restaurant - more of a local than a tourist restaurant, absolutely amazing food on Rue Trivalle, the road leading to the Pont Vieux.

Room Tip: I recommend the studio room (4) for more space.

You get what you pay for, so for 60 euros for 2 including breakfast in the heart of the beautiful medieval city of Carcassonne, and this in the middle of the summer season, we really have no complaints.
The room was small, basic, quiet and very clean. The breakfast was pretty much the same but we took this in the small garden in front of the house, a good start to the day.
If you have higher expectations this may not be for you, as far as we were concerned we found the place to be a good deal and it was exactly what we had been sold.

I stayed here for 2 days in July when the Festival De Carcassonne was on with a friend. On arrival we discovered the hotel was within the walls of the castle and our fantastic room (room 3) looked out onto one of the towers of the castle itself!
The room was very basic with a double bed and clothes rail. The toilet had a curtain for privacy and so did the shower area. The shower itself was very powerful which was a pleasant suprise. The room also had a mini fridge with butter, jams and honey's and mini milks as well as a kettle and a brilliant coffee machine. In the morning at 8.50am there was a delivery of a fresh baguette which my friend and I enjoyed in the really cute courtyard.
For the price (60 euros a night) I thought it was brilliant. Within walking distance of the concert I was going to, within a stones throw of the hustle and bustle yet really quiet. I recommend this if you just need a base to dump your things and explore.
Tip. From Carcassonne airport there is a bus that leaves around 25 minutes after a flight has landed. This costs 5 Euros. If there is more than 2 of you - we took a taxi back and it only cost 15 Euros!

Room Tip: Room three has a great view

For the price, my husband and I were very happy staying at this place. Every other place we checked prices at within the walls of Carcassonne was at least twice the price. Often, the other places were 3 times the price. So for the 50 euros per night we paid we were not expecting much. We arrived and we were pleasantly surprised. Yes, the place is a bit strange looking from the outside, yes, in our room we could look up at the ceiling and see the underside of the stairscase leading to the second floor, and yes we did feel a bit like we had rented harry potter's room under the stairs BUT the bedding was clean, the bed was very comfortable, the water ran nice and hot in the shower, there was a brand new bar fridge in the room that we could chill our wine and snacks in, and the woman who seemed to run the place was very friendly and nice. So for 50 euros a night how could we complain? We had a good sleep and woke up very well rested.

I would definitely recommend this place.

PS: All the hotels and B&B's in Carcassonne are quite a far walk from the entrance gate and since you can't drive your car inside the walls until after 9pm (and even at that your car has to be super tiny to fit down the streets) so I would not recommened brining in all your luggage from your vehicle. We left our two huge suitcases in the trunk of our rental car and just brought in a knapsack with what we needed for the night and the next morning.

We stayed for one night recently and were so relieved when we'd eventually located it! Parking was about 10-15minutes away and it wasn't possible to take a heavy or big bag/case there. We were travelling around France for two weeks, so we de-camped to a smaller bag in the back of the car and went off to find the accommodation. I would say that although you have the benefit of staying within the walls - it's a pain to find and get your belongings to - so for us - it's a balance as to whether we would stay again. I think this isn't made clear enough at all in the instructions for location etc. When we arrived we weren't 100% that we were at the right place and the owner wasn't there. After 10/15 minutes we managed to get hold of her and get the code to gain access for the house - just added hassle when it'd taken us over an hour to find! However we had a ground floor room and it was during some really hot weather and it was really cool inside the room. It's a bit dark and gloomy inside - basically open stone walls, but for a night or two is fine. To experience the City Walls for one/two nights it's fine - but the darkness and slight damp smell wouldn't be good for many more nights. However, it's good value for money - the bathroom consisted of a wetroom/shower (limited hot water!) and there was plenty of room for us to move around within the main room. Breakfast was also included - but instead we chose to eat at a pavement cafe in the sunshine. All in all - it was OK, definitely served the purpose and as a previous lady said it really is a case of you get what you pay for....

Room Tip: Would definitely recommend asking for a ground floor room and watch the hot water - it doesn't l...
