I can't believe that this cafe has managed to survive by serving the kind of overpriced salads that we were served on a busy market day in August. I suspect that the kitchen staff were tired and threw together some leftover limp salad leaves together with some unforgettable cheese and meats. I also have the feeling that being tourists, who by implication might not be regulars, we were treated to a lower standard of food than might otherwise have been the case. As frequent visitors to Carcassonne we will give this place a miss in future and eat away from the market square where there a number of better establishments to patronise.
