“More of a B&B really”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 May 2009

This hotel has a great location, just outside the city walls. Inside it has been nicely decorated and the furnishings are clean and new. The rooms are small but comfortable. The shower was rather tiny and low pressure. On arrival, the receptionist was friendly and we were shown to our room promptly. However, there was no attempt to help with luggage - DIY service only!
Breakfast was served in a room beside reception. However, it was vastly under -staffed and over capacity (many guests seemed to be arriving from an 'annexe' hotel across the road.) One morning we waited over 20 minutes for a table, the next we were asked to return to our room til they called us. Once it arrived, the continental breakfast included delicious cheeses and hams, but not a place for a speedy departure in the morning!

There is no restaurant in Hotel. You are not allowed to take a taxi into the Wall city, so if it rains be prepared to get soaked. We changed rooms twice first room by the pool was extremely dark and smelt musty.2ND room we were kept awake all night by a very loud noise sounded like a boiler problem, only one member of staff on until 5 am he didn't have a clue what the noise was. Changed to 3rd room down two flights of stairs no staff to help with casesat anytime. Only one member of staff on serving breakfast so very slow. All in all very disappointing as it was a very special celebration weekend for us we booked out after two days, got charged for 3rd night. No tea or coffee making facilities in room. Very dissopointing very expensive for a 3star

This was the best, if spendiest hotel of our trip. Desk staff was very helpful and had good English.

Well worth the splurge in price.

Had very nice dinner in the old town.

magnificent hotel, situated at the foot of the old city. The room is exquisite with a combination of classic and high tech decorations. A most elegant room with queen size , very comfy bed and an incredibly well equiped bathroom with a separate standing shower which is rather unusual in a french hotel.
the staff is friendly and warm and we loved this hotel

The hotel is very chic, and well located, we really enjoyed our stay but would consider €150 per a night, breakfast not included, a little on the expensive side, which is why I didn't rate it as excellent. The staff are very friendly and very helpful, and the continental breakfast at €10 pp is very tasty and filling. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a stay. There are also two PCs in reception with free internet, which is very useful when Ryanair cancel your flights home. BTW the beds are very very comfy!

The perfect location if you want to visit the castle at Carcassone - just a few steps away from the entrance. Also well situated if you want to explore the surrounding area. Easy access to roads - well directed to Montsegur, Rennes le Chateau and other sites that have become a mecca for tourists recently.

The hotel itself is pleasant and has good carparking, swimming pool, and a small gaden area. The staff are friendly and happy to advise on and book restaurants in the area. Rooms are clean, bright, have good bathrooms and are well serviced. Altogether an ideal tourist hotel.

One failing is perhaps the rather busy breakfast scene in the morning - breakfast is taken in the bar and at times feels a little cramped and hectic. Arrive at a busy time and you may have to wait longer than you expected to be served.
