Le Chaudron is near the centre of the Cite, but when you turn off the main street to walk down to the restaurant it feels like you are walking into a much quieter area, and the interior of the restaurant matched this feeling, feeling relaxed and homely.
I had the duck breast, which was superb, followed by the panna cotta. It was the third and final of our meals in Carcassonne and, although all were excellent, probably my favourite. Before visiting I'd read some comments about food in the Cite being poor and overpriced, but Le Chaudron proved that this is (at least not always) the case.
