We chose the 'Emotion' menu. Delicious mignardises, beautiful starter, fabulous main and very generous cheese board. For us, the 'mistake' on this menu was to add waffles as one of the sweet courses. Crude, bland and totally out of place in the middle of such an otherwise exceptional tasting and beautifully presented meal. Service was slow and inattentive. Overall good value for money and worth a visit.

We were left speechless. We went with a set menu as offered from the restaurant itself, worth every cent! The meal was perfect in every aspect, with the cheese trolley the best ever found! Seriously the finest dinner ever had!

I have a couple of rules when it comes to eating at Michelin star restaurants, firstly that after eating you feel like you have had a good meal (so many so called chef seem to think that feeding the eye surpasses filling the stomach) and that the ambiance of the place justifies the cost. On both counts Le Table de Franck Putelat surpasses these tests with ease. Fabulous service who are a credit to the establishment and the ambience wonderful augmented by tasteful elegance in a contemporary but relaxing space. The main event the food was a delight. From the amuse bouche to the awe inspiring cheese selection, each course delighted the eye and the appetite. The accompanying wine for the classic fiction menu was a wonderful tour around some of the local wines that enhanced the taste experience. As this was for a birthday they even laid on a cake for us and Franck Putelat himself came out to wish my girl happy birthday. Could not hope for a better experience his two stars are well earned and deserved. Wonderful.

I will start with the few negatives. First of all not many options if red meat is not your thing ( I only spotted one fish main and nothing veggie), but then again this is france - and the menu is a little opaque. The other niggle was the cutlery. My steak was so tender you could have cut with a butter knife, so I really did not need the weapon that even Rambo would have baulked at. My wife's monk fish came with a spork, which though novel in a fine dining restaurant was useless. These were minor niggles - the food and wine were outstanding. Highlights for me were the foix gras "bouillabaisse" and the Aberdeen Angus "guacamole". I seem to have written more negatives than positives and that does not reflect what was in reality an outstanding culinary experience, of well balanced superbly prepared and presented food. Service was perfect - not topping up your glass every second, nor leaving you hanging - almost a stage act in mind reading as the moment you thought "another bread roll would be nice" up someone popped with a basket of bread... which would be nice now as just thinking back is making me hungry.

Having enjoyed the "Action Reaction" menu last year, we had no hesitation in revisiting it with our son and his girlfriend. It did not disappoint, offering a range of exceptionally delightful taste experiences. The staff were again extremely helpful and attentive and we would recommend a visit without a second though. A truly wonderful experience and quite possibly our best meal in France to-date.
