“Well kept secret spot in Carcassonne”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 June 2014

Now my favourite restaurant in Carcassonne...hard to find but worth it when you get there. Actually a very large restaurant that manages to keep an intimate feel by having lots of different rooms with eclectic decor from Moroccan chic to distressed off white painted French.
Food is delicious and reasonably priced. Little choice but I prefer that to the standard fare in Carcassonne where you know it is mainly supermarket bought and often from tins - I refer to the fois gras pate, confit duck, salad of geziers and Cassoullete.
My tiniest complaint is that the deserts were far too sweet and sickly - but this is usual in French cuisine so i have learnt to expect it.

“Off the Tourist Trail”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 May 2014

This restaurant is tricky to find-Not helped by the map on tripadvisor which has it in the completely wrong location. It is located not far from the Canal Du Midi in a small suburban housing area at the train station end of lower Carcassonne. It is located in an old stone villa which pre-dates all of the surrounding housing which explains its unusual setting. It is very popular with locals which is a good indication of quality and value.
There is too sections to the restaurant one in the original stone villa which is bright and open plan and the other which has an African theme with a more subdued/private feel.

As other reviews have stated it has a fixed price 4 course menu including a Kir to start for €28.
and the choices were refreshingly different from the usual fair in Carcassonne. Definitely worth a try.

“Something different ”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 May 2014 via mobile

I have been here now twice, and both times I've had a lovely evening. This place is a little hidden gem, with different themed rooms and welcoming staff. All for 28 euros per head for fantastic food I would highly recommend this restaurant.

“another hidden surprise”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 March 2014

Comfortable thematic rooms with beautifully set tables. Staff were kind and attentive and made us feel very welcome. The menu was quite small but well thought out. The chef did a great job and eating was a real pleasure. The meal was complemented by a good local wine. The whole night was finished by a final surprise, when the bill arrived at 64 Euros per couple. We will be going back there very soon

“Great atmosphere, excellent service and quality food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 January 2014

Despite getting lost again in the housing estate (the restaurant is difficult to find) we arrived on time at 7.30, on Saturday, to avoid a slow service. That was a great idea as the restaurant got packed very quickly but luckily we had already made the order.
The entrance to the restaurant is beautiful with a lovely swimming pool just in front. You feel immediately at home as soon as you enter, the decoration of every room is very original and done with taste. As it's an old house converted as restaurant, you can choose the room, and we choose a beautiful one with a lovely wooden fireplace. It was nice and warm. We got offered an aperitif straight away, then ordered the food. I was impressed with the children menu. Basically its the same as the adults menu but slightly reduced in quantity, and for 15 euros instead of 28. That's a big plus for me compared with other restaurants where they always offer chicken nugget/chips or steak hache/pates for the kids! All the starters were excellent and the presentation in the plate beautiful and very artistic. The main course were excellent too, although for me the quantity was not enough. Its more a 'nouvelle cuisine' style restaurant so if you look for quantity you could be disappointed. But then, you have two desserts, with a chevre chaud au miel, very good, then a great selection of lovely desserts. So at the end it was enough quantity with the 4 courses. I was impressed by the rapidity of the service (especially on a saturday with a full restaurant) and how friendly the waiters and the lovely lady owner were with us. Shall I mention the occasion? it was a special birthday for me and we all had great time :-)
