Our second visit, excellent meal for four of us. Much better than most of the restaurants in Collioure. Stuffed large mussels and very tasty pepper salad, followed by beef, pork, duck and tuna. All very well presented. Excellent service and judging by the amount of tables filled every time we pass, this restaurant has become very popular!

We visited Ambroisie after having read Tripadvisor's recommendations, and we were not disappointed!
The food is deliciious and the service is good. We tried it out several times from June till September, and feel that somehow the good feed-back from Tripadvisor has resulted in a less attentive customer focus. Hope we are wrong! The food was excellent on every occasion.

We ate here twice and liked it very much. Excellent food, reasonably-priced, and a very personable waiter.

We probably went the same night as the other two reviewers 16th September - maybe it was an off week? Certainly not up to the billing - seems to be really pushing to keep its Tripadvisor rating with the Brits rather than providing great food. Everyone in the restaurant was English speaking - so I guess this is what you get for being number 1 in the english speaking part of Tripadvisor. We also had the anchovy and red pepper mouse concoction which was heavy. My husband had the tuna, and thought it tasted funny but put it down to the citric dressing. I tried a bit and it certainly tasted very metallic. Unfortunately, my husband was ill that night. We wont be going back.

The service and ambience of this small restaurant was good, and sitting outside you have views of the sea and surrounding bay. However, on the night we dined, the food was only good to average.
For starters we had an achovy and red pepper mousse-cream concoction, which probably over-reached, and what seemed to be a pork pate mixture on toast, which was tasty but unremarkable. As they had no tuna, some of their signature dishes were unavailable. They prepared a whole sea bass for my wife, which was satisfactory, and I had a very tiny piece of John Dory for E20+, which to be frank, seemed inadequate, but which left me room for a pudding, which I can recommend - a milles-feuilles and kiwi-fruit slice. The wine list was serviceable, if expensive, but no one really seems to know enough to help you choose - this is a fairly universal problem I have found in France and Spain - and you can end up, as we did, with a bottle that would have been delicious in 5 years time, or perhaps after 5 hours open.
Over all the food and cooking was good, but over-priced on the night.
