We went here because of the good TA reviews but found nothing special about this restaurant. The room is nice and quiet with tables spaced well apart, but too brightly lit. The service was fine but without personality. We both had the Plateau de la Mer which had a small sole in a nice white sauce, a few slices of scallops in a very tasty sauce, and a puff pastry of mixed mushrooms and fish, accompanied by a smooth mash of celeriac, and a vegetable mouse. Good flavours but unfortunately most of the dish was cold, including the sauce on the fish, which should have been poured on hot at the last moment. There were very few choices on the menu and it is apparent from prior reviews that they have been serving the same dishes for a long time, so they should be able to get it right, at least. With one main course and one desert each the bill came to 80 euro, including a bottle of wine. We have enjoyed several much better restaurants in Montpellier for approximately the same price. For example, Le Pastis, Les Vignes, and L'Idee Saveurs are each much better than Les Ban.
