From the moment we entered the hotel to leaving we were given excellent service in this new, bright hotel. The room was of a good size with `feel good' decor. The dining room was attractive and the breakfast well worth having, especially if bought as part of a package. It is within easy walking distance of the central part of Montpellier (e.g. Place de la Comedie) and even the TGV station (possibly a good ten minutes walk as long as one is not carrying heavy baggage). As one leaves the hotel there is a path to the left which takes one down a slight hill and up past the lycee then over a bridge and into the central park area. As a Priority Club member we were given free WiFi which worked very well. The hotel was so good we are thinking of using it as a base again for exploring more of the area.

Once located, this is a very good hotel within easy walking distance of the town centre and Place de Comedie. Safe, well-kept concreted path.
Hotel was strangely sparsely occupied on a weekday night in March(cold weather in S France though!) Pleasant welcome though rather slow. Excellent room on 4th floor with city outskirts view. Trains pass regularly far below but no disturbing noise. No information provided about wifi on arrival but actually this is free and you get access details on request from reception. Evening dinner was rather expensive but the food was excellent, well-presented, with cheerful and experienced, English-speaking Maitre'd. Secure, private car parking both above and below ground. Everything still feels new here (opened 2011) and rooms/public areas are very well furnished and kept. Would certainly stay again. Montpellier is a fine city for pedestrians and the hotel is exceptionally well situated for exploring it.

This hotel was another lucky choice. It isn't a luxury hotel, but it is very nice. We stayed in August, soon after the hotel opened, so the room was perfect--attractive red design scheme, pretty, if not large, bathroom. The hotel seemed to be almost empty, and it was as quiet as could be. We never heard a sound and saw only a handful of other people. The hotel is right outside of the center of the city, so in a quiet spot, but it's an easy walk into the busy tourist areas. There's an outdoor swimming pool, which is quite small. It was great for us when we were there, since we were the only ones using it; but if the hotel had been busy, it probably would have been less appealing. Very good equipment in the hotel gym, as well. The only problem we had was that our door would not always lock when leaving the room, so we had to remember to double check it. The front desk person said the door locks were a problem that they were aware of and that was being ironed out. All in all, this hotel was a pleasant surprise, and we would have been happy to have been able to extend our stay. I would certainly stay there again.

The moment you walk into this hotel you feel you have entered a sophisticated environment. Everything is simple but elegant. It's position is ideal for exploring the delights of Montpellier as well as access to rail connections to the picturesque fishing port of Sete, a relatively unknown but delightful town on the Mediterranean. The Crown Plaza's rooms are large by French standards and the beds are very comfortable. The breakfast buffet offers a wide range of edible delights. Reception, and indeed every member of staff I met, was efficient, polite and friendly. For business or pleasure, I have not hesitation in recommending this hotel.

The Crowne Plaza in Montpellier, south of France, is a new hotel with great service and location. The hotel is located just a few minutes by walk from La Place de la Comédie, one of the most interesting places to visit in the city.

The staff is very friendly and, besides French, also speak Spanish and English. The restaurant is very good, room service 24/7 and breakfast has a lot of choices.

Under the heading of what you see is what you get - the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Montpellier would be at the top of the list. It's a French 4-star hotel that is very clean, and a five minute walk to the City Centre, Plaza Comedie and Corum Convention Centre. If you're in the mood for a little bed and breakfast or "charming" little hotel stop reading. The Crown Plaza Hotel is about efficiency and known expectations for business. It delivers in that regards. The rooms, are a bit on the small side but not overly so. The rooms are incredibly quiet, with great sound and light isolation. Bathrooms are bright, great shower with Grohe fixtures and the toiletries are of good quality. The included petite-dejuener was quite good although the range of hot entrees was limited by my tastes.
Other reviewers are correct: the free-WiFi is only worth the price - it is VERY slow in the room and only allows one device to be connected at any time - a pain!
For the money, its an overall good value but I would recommend that anyone on a holiday take a look at some of the other smaller hotels in the old city as I think the experience will be more enjoyable.
