I stayed for 7 nights in August 2012 and had a very relaxing, excellent stay. The swimming pool, though small was a really nice place to relax, the fitness room, though small, had all that was needed to rid yourself of some excesses. Though you seem way out of town, looking at a map, in reality you are no more than 25 minutes strolling distance from the 'Place de Comedies' or the 'Odysseum'. If you don't like walking their are trams right outside the hotel, a cheap way to get around. There are too many restaurants to mention so choice is no problem. The days of cheap eating/drinking are gone but the ambience makes up for this. It is just nice to eat without having to get a table number, pay, wait and then be force fed so the table cn be made available fo the next 'cover'.
I only had drinks nd a snack in he hotel as it was far cheaper to eat out and enjoy the city but according to those who had partaken it was excellent, but pricey. A trip, via tram, to the beach is worth it, not commercial, mainly locals but nice sandy beach. My only complaint was that the only mozzie bites I got were in he bar at the hotel, needs addressing!!
Montpellier is a lovely place, a mixture of old and new, fascinating views, the arc de triomphe, street artists, friendly and somewhere I will definitely return to.

Don't be put off by this new hotel being a couple of miles from the old town. State of the art trams run right outside -- one track goes to the centre in under 10 minutes. It couldn't be more convenient. The hotel facilities and staff are excellent. We booked ahead for a sizeable standard twin room at 99 euros a night. The beds were divine and there was a full bath en-suite. It was also very quiet at night. We didn't sample breakfast because Montpellier has dozens of outdoor restaurants and bars to try out in the summer. A lovely modern hotel in what is, in our view, the most attractive and vibrant city in the whole south of France. If you want a day by the sea go no further than the relatively uncommercialised Palavas les Flots. Take the number 3 tram to Perols L'etang followed by a short ride on the 131 bus to the lively old town centre. There are miles and miles of beaches. Also recommended is the 75-minute bus ride from Odysseum (accessible by tram) via La Grande Motte to Aigues Mortes on the edge of the Camargue. A boat trip from there gave us a view of the famous wild bulls and white horses.

Everything was amazingly new trendy beautiful and the pool is gorgeous. The staff were so nice and helpful and helped with anything we needed. They even printed itinerary we needed. The carparking was secure as is everything about this hotel. It is across the rd from the tram to the centre which is a 8minute tram ride. There is lovely running parks and a river front to the left of the hotel.Would stay here again without a doubt.

Stayed here for three nights recently. We had a superior room which had a great balcony to sit & watch the world go by. The bed was massive & the room was very clean. The bathroom has a large shower. The hotel is very new & staff were very friendly. The pool is very nice & the hotel has a feel of not being a large hotel. It is in a great location, just hope on the tram to town which are only a couple of stops. The trams run late, are very clean & cheap. Great base to explore Montpellier, would return

Room Tip: We paid an extra £30 a night for the superior room, worth it for the extra space when staying a few...

We trek to Montpellier one WE a year as we love this city. Last year, we went back to our usual "traditional" hotel in the historical center and after a full electrical fault in our room, and a migration to a better room with a very disappointing bed and bathroom, I decided I was done subsidizing the place (for many years in fact). Which is "saintly" and has a fantastic location over a beautiful park, you will recognize, but enough was enough.
The Courtyard is right off the tram line, you are in the center in 10mn. Very pleasant and an opportunity to observe the locals in and out. The rooms are super spacious (oh, we got one of the best ones at 148E, not sure about the other ones though), everything is new, clean, beds are tops and the A/C comes in nicely on hot days. Impeccable bathroom of course.
No particular character other than its modern aspect but a "safe" alternative. They should fine-tune their approach to parking though, make sure you stop by reception first on check-in otherwise you will be blocked at the parking garage's gates. But note that it is very nice to park right under your bedroom, as opposed to having to walk to some external parking garage if you are staying in the center. Very friendly staff who tries hard to build a good reputation for this newcomer.

As mentioned before there address is not yet in the GPS system, use Rue du Chelia Montpellier as the address and you will get there. When you arrive you might have to park in the middle of a side road go in check in, pay for parking and then drive to a nice secure parking and lifts to the side of the hotel - complicated.

Our room was still a bit dusty - the hotel must have been recently opened, good room, nice reception and check in, free internet, great breakfast worth 15 euros, the food was also very good in the evening.

This hotel is brand new. With that, it brings some challenges to travelers. Loved the hotel, but this review may help you actually get there and enjoy it:

Hotel Location:
First, the bad news: Everything you read is wrong. The hotel's formal address is 105, Place George Freche (Chelia Street). That is meaningless. If you map it in Google Maps, Bing, or Mapquest, you'll see a vacant lot (the hotel was built after the satellite photo). Nobody will know where that street is.

I suggest you use this address which is directly across the street from the hotel for mapping, directions, etc.:
455 Avenue de Professor Etienne Antonelli
34000 Montpellier, France
-- or use GPS = Lat 43.6002, Lon 3.8956

Or, if taking a taxi, tell them it's next to the new city hall building (Hotel de Ville).

However, once you find it, the location is great! It is next to the It is right on the tram line (street-level light-rail). The tram is about 10 minute ride into the city center. You can go the other way on the tram to the huge shopping mall (Odysseum). You can walk to the supermarket, Carrefours (~5 mins) which is fully stocked and has fresh breads, etc. If you want to just explore the city of Montpellier, you do not need a car, use the trams. To get out of the city, you certainly need one.

Parking: This is the most secure parking garage I've ever been in. You check in to the hotel and they'll direct you to the then park in the city hall garage. It's a little challenging to find the first time, but once you've found it, it's easy. You get an assigned parking space which is nice if you ever come in late. I found it secure becuae you're sharing the garage with many of the police cars. :)

Hotel:
It's beautiful. Brand new, larger rooms than most in europe. Rooms had either 1 King or 2 Twin. (no 2 Queens as typical in the US). Cold A/C, a nice size bathroom with oversized shower, etc etc etc. Several other reviews have addressed this well. Balconies on the side facing the Hotel de Ville.

The front desk staff are very friendly, fluent in english, and very very helpful. The restuarant in the lobby is good, but a touch expensive. We found that picking up a fresh baguette/croissant at the supermarket or one of several nearby bakeries made a very nice breakfast on the balcony.

The hotel was clean and quiet. The pool was a great place to be able to unwind before dinner.

There are several good restaurants and bakeries in walking distance. We enjoyed the creperie & sushi. We enjoyed the hotel restuarant.

The area: We didn't spend a lot of time in Montpellier. Instead we used it as a base to go to the beach in Sète, Le Grand Travers, and La Grande Motte. We explored the historic sites in Les Baux De Provence and Nimes.
