Reviewed 20 February 2013

Might be the only 2 star hotel I ever visited, and it wasnt a horror story. we spent a night on way to Spain from switzerland. nice place.
Plain rooms as you would expect. but very clean, safe, quiet. about all i wanted in a two star hotel staff were very nice, welcoming and food for breakfast better then expected. was crammed to the gills mostly with over-nighters like us but seemed to have a few longer term holiday makers as wel. had a pool but it wasnt open: didnt look great
overall good value and did the job well

The hotel does not look very inviting, but the rooms were ok, bathroom was clean. We will not go back here. The hotel, the area, it all looked quite desolate in autumn.service was not much either. the restaurant was ....... well, let's just say that you could choose out of three dishes and when we asked if we could maybe combine the vegetables, since they had them obviously if they are on the menu, we were told you could only order in the set combination. this made us think of ready-made meals so decided to look elsewhere for our meal. this hotel is ok for overnight, but would definitely not stay there for longer. probably better in summer.

Bonjour M ou Mme uw1,

Thank you for having taken your time to complete this fact sheet but I see that you are also a assiduous author.
I am saddened to see that you will not return more in our hotel, you can see the changes. I do not know at what time you have visited but it is true that the place is less alive than the French riviera at this time of the year when the hotel??

I'm not sure you dinne in our restaurant: there have 6-8 choices of starters, 6-8 different dishes with accompanying two proposals cheese and 4-6 desserts, all of which are prepared on the spot with local products as possible.
As for the accompaniments you have several and are generally vegetables, a vegetable flan and either Camargues rice either fresh pasta either potatoes (but never French fries ) either gnocchi, which are never the same.
As for the accompaniments you have several and are generally vegetables, a vegetable flan and either rice or pasta fresh Cammargues either potatoes or gnocchi, which are never the same.
As we work fresh we do not map extremely long and everything is made on site. If you had asked we would have could you also offer you a vegetarian dish, we can put what we want on the plates but particularly what we have. If we offered you more dishes or accompaniments as indicated on the blackboard I understand that you would say that pltas were all ready.

And I assure you that during the summer the regular customers coming back for more and more. They are foreigner or French and all social classes confounded
with or without children, young and old.
It is a sign that encourages us in this direction.

More how did you could eat at the restaurant Air Marin air and at the same time with us?

Happy christmas

We visited this hotel when taking a detour from Barcelona through Figueres and then to Toulouse. The hospitality was great. The hotel is family owned/operated and guests are treated like family. The rooms were clean, there was wifi, and we were located just a few steps from the beach. The restaurant was EXCELLENT. We dined there for two nights and everything was great. I highly recommend this hotel and restaurant! Thanks Corinne and Nicolas!

Although I applaud anyone's efforts to be 'green' that is about the best thing I can say. I'd read the reviews and thought it would be ok, but the room was small and pokey, the bed was so low that it was almost on the floor and it was very small. The bathroom was clean, but resembled more of a holiday chalet type quality. The balcony overlooking the Court - turned out to be right above the bar where people were smoking and I could almost shake hands with the people in the hotel opposite at the back.
The breakfast was very basic and not very nice although the coffee was good. The pool was more like a large bath and the seating area around it was uninviting. The staff were helpful but I did not feel welcome and as this was one of the most expensive hotels we'd staying in during our 10 day trip I felt very disappointed.

Hello,

I want to thank you will of having given your review to our hotel and thank you for supporting our work in environmental matters.
The rooms have an area of 15 square meters, including 2.50 for the bathroom, it is a standard size for a three star we only have two
The beds are at a height of 45 cm above the ground (feet = 9 cm, slatted upholstered = 15 cm and mattress = 21 cm) 45 cm is the height of a seat for a chair!
Nevertheless we planning to reassemble this height during the months for our rooms woman is less difficult to make the beds, which should suit you if you come back to see us?
I do not understand the comparison with a bathroom holiday chalet type quality.,Could you explain?
The balconies overlook the patio and not a "courtyard" which is actually the restaurant terrace and the hotel for breakfast you find "basic" but what does it mean for a basic breakfast with juice € 8.00 orange, hot drinks( thank you for the good coffe), toaster, bread, sliced bread, biscuits, pastries, fresh frut, jams (3), Garrigue honey (local production), butter, cheese, ham, yogurt (Activia, nature, fruits) the just WILLINGNESS 7.45 to 11.00 h ......
You send me your contrite disappointment we consider your comments to do better.
May be you will come back?

Cordially

A tight schedule when booking this hotel, actually made us end up in Narbonne-Plage instead of the city centre of Narbonne. In hindsight a place by the beach was just what we needed so it ended up being a good "mistake" anyway.

As for the hotel we hade decided to save a few bucks on this nights stay, and De La Clape looked ok. Free parking outside the hotel is a nice touch. Our first impression when walking in the entrance wasn't good as we weren't greeted (I think the lady was in her own minds for a minute there), but once she noticed us that impression was changed instantly.

As there were no stairs and she saw us struggling a bit with the bags, she insisted to help my gf with the bags. Also when lacking the code for Internet, she was on our door with the code slip, before we even managed to put on shoes to get down to collect it. It's the little things that matters, and those changed our impression of the hotel at once. Instead of looking for faults your end up looking for positives.

The hotel definately a two star. The room is decent sized, but the bed only had a thin mattress and was very hard. Concrete walls/floor, but good enough for a nights stay. A small balcony overlooking the pool area gave some air. Room also had A/C.

As for the pool area we never used it, but noticed that the chairs/pillows were kinda "strange". Iron chairs and some heavy pillows/mattresses, but I'm sure they did the job. We didn't eat breakfast or food there, so can't say anything about that.

In general the hotel is very nice. Good service and although it's very close to a 4, it ends up on a 3 as the beds means quite much to me having a troublesome back. A better mattress next time, and the grading will be better. However, it needs to be said that I will advice people to stay here if they're on a budget and are looking for a small and cozy hotel

Hello,

Thank you for having taken of your time to
give your views on our hotel.
We should be making changes to our bedding. These changes will intervene over a period of a few months.
But it is difficult to find the correct level of bedding
among those who prefer to a comfort hard, semi-hard or soft, more must consider the weight and size of individuals; difficult exercise. If we had a structure a hundred rooms we could have all these types of bedding and requested the preference of each!
We take into account your opinion and strive to find a solution or an answer.

I invite you to contact us for more information. the pleasure

We stayed at the Hotel de la Clape for one night at the end of May on our way to the very south east of France. It is a brilliant little hotel. the couple who own it couldn't do enough for us. The room was small but spotlessly clean with free wi-fi. We had the rate that included table d'hote dinner. The dinner was really good. The wine was of course extra but it was local and very good. Breakfast was good too. Overall this hotel was great value for money and had brilliant service. I would not hesitate to go back or to recommend it to others.

My wife and I stayed a night at this hotel after touring the Camargue. Narbonne plage seemed to us to be mainly a french family seaside resort rather than a tourist destination. The beach was very wide and sandy. Kids would love it. We had a very good seafood meal at the hotel's restaurant as well as a nice breakfast the next morning. Our room was simple and clean. The bath had a tub and hand shower. The Saturday market at near by St. Pierre was lively and colorful.
