We just returned from a "Destination Birthday" Celebration in France, the highlight of which was our wonderful stay at Chambres de l'Artemise. Accomodations were chic yet comfortable and we loved the personal touch of the artwork. Benoit is a charming and gracious host and kindly accomodated our (sometimes) noisy and disorganized group. Breakfast was exquisite with fresh fruit, cheese, bread and homemade spreads. We love sitting by the pool and dipping our toes in the water as we talked about life and enjoyed the beautiful surroundings. It is just a short walk into the lovely little town of Uzes. Benoit's recommendations on where to eat and what to do are excellent. A highlight for us was a bike ride in the countryside and a tour of local vineyards. Our only regret is that we had to leave! We look forward to returning again.

My husband and I stayed in this hotel for two nights and then we moved to their sister hotel closer tot the town of Uzes. Both hotels are excellent hotels for people who are into looking for a quiet, relaxing, tasteful hotel. One of the owners is a designer and his taste to decorate the hotels is superb!!! Both hotels are old structures that were renovated in an incredibly tasteful manner. Both hotels were created to give you a total experience of the senses... I highly recommend Chambres de L´Artemise and its sister hotel for sofisticated people who appreciate good food and good taste! The owners are very nice and helpful!

Beautiful B&B (not a hotel - no reception!) nestled into a 16th century residence. If you seek tranquility, this is the place. Maximise this by making sure you get a room in the Bergerie de l'Artemise - the second building on the premises.
You will hear the wind and maybe some crickets, nothing else.
Have a swim in the picturesque pool or have a glass of rosé in the garden and enjoy the view over the Vallée de l'Eure. You will probably arrive by car but you can leave it parked at L'Artemise and walk into town (Uzès) within 7 minutes - ideal for a dinner night out.
The owners are lovely and make your stay a very personal thing. If you need advice or something booked - it will be no problem at all.
The actual rooms are VERY modern - make sure this is something for you / you are seeking before you come to L'Artemise.
There is a spa - ideal for rainy days - consisting of a jacuzzi, steam room, indoor pool and massage area. The only downpoint here is the look of the jacuzzi, which doesn't blend in with the rest of the ambience.
The surroundings are just stunning - the whole area around Nîmes and the Rhône valley with its vineyards is exactly how you'd imagine it. Yes, the sky is blue, the hills are smooth, you WILL see people having a picnic with local produce, you WILL encounter the famous heure d'Aperol -- aperitif time! -- (here it's Ricard/Pastis), and you WILL see a lot of rosé wine. It's Provence.

Room Tip: Try to get one of the upstairs rooms at the Bergerie de l'Artemise - it's a detached buildin...

We stayed for 2 nights and added an extra night as we were enjoying the hotel and all of Benoit's suggestions. This places is fabulous. The gardens are stunning, the rooms simple and tasteful with amazing art. Every detail is thought of - the view from each window was magnificent. Every morning Benoit greeted us and helped plan an itinerary of what to do. When we extended our stay and forgot to make a dinner reservation Benoit thoughtfully fit us in even though he was fully booked. This place is special as it combine elegance and sophistication with luxury and warmth. i can not wait to go back.

Room Tip: All the rooms are good. i think it is a matter of personal taste and what type of art you like to se...

We stayed for four nights and added an extra night as we were enjoying it so much.
Every detail was thought of in advance . The rooms are divine and comfortable and the art was interesting and added to the charm of the place.
Breakfast was a treat and served overlooking the exceptional garden.
Benoit is the host and is extremely knowledgable about the local area.
The pool area and spa are some of the best I have experienced.

I have two words for you "book it"!! L'Artemise was everything we dreamed about for our vacation in Provence. The rooms are beautifully decorated, the gardens are immaculate and the surroundings are just gorgeous. We wish we had booked a longer stay!

L'Artemise was the first stop of our honeymoon. As soon as we set foot on the grounds we knew we were in for a relaxing and luxurious stay. Not only was the Hope Suite the most beautiful room we had ever stayed in but it was so incredibly comfortable as well. The spa area felt like a magical cave and the private garden was just the cherry on top of the most delicious sundae we had ever tasted. Speaking of food, their restaurant was top notch. Such interesting and delicious cuisine, I highly recommend the 5 course tasting menu. Lastly, the staff are quite possibly the nicest and most accommodating people you will ever meet. We stayed for 3 days, but I could have stayed forever.

Room Tip: The Hope Suite is beautiful and has a little nook inside the spire that is perfect for a post flight...
