“Great hotel in Uzes”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 June 2013

I used to go to Uzes every year with my family, so was very excited to return after 11 years. Hostellerie Provencale was the perfect place to stay and explore the town again, and we thoroughly enjoyed our two nights there.

Eric and Francois are fantastic hosts and were very helpful - guiding us and taking our luggage to/from the car and garage they provide and confirming restaurant reservations for us. There's a great atmosphere and you can tell they really love their hotel and look after it.

The decor is very stylish - there were several items I wanted to put in my suitcase! - but comfortable too. It's very clean, we slept really well and also had a great meal in the restaurant.

I wouldn't hesitate to return or recommend the Provencale to other people who want to explore Uzes and the region from an ideal spot.

Thanks for a great stay!

The hosts are very welcoming, even bringing a cup of tea to the room. The location is ideal, in the centre of one of our favourite towns- yes you cannot park outside -it is a pedestrian street but as soon as you arrive, the luggage is taken from the car and you are escorted to a car park.

The decor of the hotel is quirky, this extends to the taps in the basins and showers which are annoying- they work the opposite to expected-

The food is excellent.

Overall it is probably overpriced but in an excellent location

My wife and I spent two nights at this hotel during a cycling holiday in Provence. On arrival it is nothing much to look at from the outside, and the reception area is a bit cramped. The staff though were just so friendly, the room was very pleasant and the food was superb. We had their 25 Euro menu which changes every night. For both evening meals I asked them to recommend a local wine, which they did and both wines were excellent.

Eric and Francois, the owners, greeted us like old friends and could not have been kinder throughout our short stay. We had a beautiful room on the top floor (thre is a lift) and every part of the hotel is wonderfully decorated. Breakfast every morning in the dining room was perfect. The location is ideal - right on the edge of the old town - and they organised off street parking for us. Highly recommended.

A wonderfully located, full of character hotel. Beautifully furnished bedroom and ensuite with excellent breakfast and service. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the hotel last September and although we had to leave sooner than expected as I was unwell, we now look forward to returning soon again and enjoying a longer stay.

A perfect stay, in one of the most beautiful towns in France. The room is very comfortable, and tastefully decorated. The food was delicious, with a good selection of local wines. The service was impeccable. Highly recommended.

The owners were super friendly and nice and gave us good restaurant recommendations. The breakfast was yummy and we managed to snag an online deal from tripadvisor to get it for free each day! It had a cozy, Provençal feel, lots of art books strewn about, old furniture and pretty windows. The showers were good, very hot water. Very comfortable, large beds.

Cons: The lobby of the hotel smelled a bit like wet dogs one day and the owners love dogs and let guests have dogs everywhere. On the third floor, the wifi Internet was flaky (but it was good on the second floor)

Overall Uzès made a nice base for exploring Provence! It was very easy to drive into and out of Uzès each day, compared to a half hour of each going to Avignon. The owners provide you a parking spot in an underground garage a short block away, which worked very well.

Overall, a memorable, pleasant unique place to stay in Provence!!
