We spent two wonderful nights at La Maison de La Bourgade! We found it with no problems at all with our GPS- it took us right to the door, not a single wrong turn. Lisbeth greeted us very warmly and took us to our beautiful, fragrant garden to relax for a few minutes, share a beverage, and chat with her. Then up to see our rooms. We were two couples, one with the room "Julie", one with the room "Emilie". Julie is in the main house (where you eat breakfast, go to the garden) with an additional door to a separate staircase in the next door building. Emilie is in the next door building on that same staircase. Both rooms were tastefully decorated and look like the pictures on the website.

A little more on Emilie, since that is the room I was in- the bed was very comfortable, the room of a good size, as well as the bathroom. The shower was very nice, very clean, had great pressure, and plenty of hot water. Even though we had to go downstairs, out one door onto the street and into the next door to get to breakfast, we did not feel like this was a problem at all. I went to the "main" house several times and both Lisbeth and Jean Francois were just so lovely and friendly and attentive to anything that might make our stay more comfortable. They really touched all of our hearts and you truly felt like you were a guest in someone's home and they were just the perfect hosts!

Breakfast one morning was in their quaint kitchen due to rain, and the next morning in the garden. Lisbeth had a very nice spread, with croissants, several kinds of breads, several cheeses, fresh fruit, homemade jams, juice, coffee, tea, fromage blanc, crepes.

There is a small pool in the garden which looked quite inviting, but it was a little too cool when we were there! There are nice chairs to lounge in the garden, very fragrant jasmine scenting the air, and in the evening it is beautifully lit. Such a nice relaxing place to sit.

La Maison de La Bourgade is also very conveniently located. It is at most 5 min walk to Place Aux Herbes. But it was also relatively quiet on this small street, so no trouble sleeping. There is parking in a gated lot right next to the hotel for a small fee.

Uzes is such a pretty town, with plenty of food options and a fantastic Saturday market!

Warm, friendly hosts, comfortable, well looked after rooms, tasty breakfasts, and fabulous location made this our favorite stop on our 10 day trip through Languedoc!

We stayed here three nights in mid March 2011. We had no advance reservation, only a name and street address, and had quite an adventure trying to locate the maison when we drove into town on a dark, rainy night. This small guest house is located down a very old, very crooked little medieval street which looked more like an alley or foot-path - just barely wide enough for a single car. Even with a GPS and a street address we must have driven in circles a half dozen times, until we finally found a local citizen who kindly showed us where the street was. Even then, we walked right past the house, missing the tiny sign fixed to the window on the front door. Nevertheless, once we got there, the proprietors, Elizabeth and Francois, could not have been more welcoming or more charming. Thankfully, both can speak a bit of English and made our stay quite wonderful. Our upstairs room with en suite bath was lovely and comfortable, nicely furnished, comfortable bed, and we had our own private staircase separate from the main house, to come and go as we pleased. Madame made an excellent continental breakfast each morning with coffee and tea, fresh croissants, yogurt, fruit, and homemade marmalade - delicious! One chilly evening Francois made a blazing fire in the living room fireplace and offered us a nice glass of wine. Uzes is a delightful town and Le Maison de la Bourgade is a delightful place to lodge when you go there.

The welcome was excellent and we had a good stay in the Maison. Elisabeth and François are lovely people who make people at ease immediately. Breakfast is well prepared with self made marmelade. Better than a hotel as it makes you feel at home but away from home.

We rented a studio for a week in late September. The location was great however the facilities in the apartments were terrible. Cracked plates, cups and glasses. Our bed was very small and the bed coverings questionable. The shower was very small. We have stayed at other B&B apartments in France which have been great however La Maison de la Bourgade leaves a lot too improve upon – stay elsewhere!!!

Great expectations, but sadly not realised. We choose this accomodation on the basis of the owners website and the glowing reviews here on tripadvisor. The pictures depicted a beautiful place with plush bedrooms/bathrooms. In reality the room we were allocated 'Pia' was dark and sparse, the bed uncomfortable. The en suite shower room was very very small with poor quality fixtures, grubby with a rusting shower cubicle (we have photos). We did not see the other rooms but can only assume that they are of a higher quality, hence the reviews from the other lucky travellers. Our bedroom was in the property next to the owners home.....breakfast (which was delicious) was served in the owners garden....a beautiful setting, but we did feel rather uncomfortable, rather like we were imposing on them, which was a shame. To get to the garden/breakfast area you had to access the owners home (key provided) and walk through their lounge area. Incidently the photos on their website are of their hallway and lounge not in the building where the bedrooms are situated, which has a very dingy entrance. On a positive note Uzes is a breathtakingly beautiful place to explore and we will be back, but sadly not to La Maison de La Bourgade.
