We stayed for one night at the Novotel in Limoges on our way south to Languedoc.
We paid for a "superior" room which, I suspect, meant that we had a hair dryer, a view over the lake and received two small bottles of water.
All parts of the hotel were spotlessly clean and all the staff we encountered were scrupulously polite. In our room we had precisely the right number of coffee, milk and sugar sachets in our room but for 120+ Euros a night proper cups and spoons rather than cardboard beakers and wooden stirrers would have been nice.
The food in the restaurant was well presented but bland - my "five vegetable soup" resembled a puree and tasted as if at least three of those vegetables were potatoes.
So, in summary, the hotel was convenient for the motorway, fine for an overnight stay but felt a little sterile and certainly lacked any real character.More
