“Nice and frienly hotel.”
Reviewed 15 July 2012 via mobile

Nice hotel nearby the citycenter of Limoges. Very frienly and helpfull staf. We booked a room in july and we were very satisfied. The hotel has no restaurant, but there are plenty of restaurants nearby which are also recommended by the hotel staff. For breakfast you don't have te go out. They serve a good (self service) breakfast. Parking in a (small) secured area has to be booked upfront. (Not cheap) I can recommend this hotel wben visiting Limoges.

The sat nav took us right to the front door and the hotel garage which is limited in size and needs booking in advance. Good start. Bit weird having to check in before you could get into the garage, which meant the car was parked across the pavement for a good 6 or 7 minutes whilst this was completed and there was no one else in front of me at the check in desk.
Staff were excellent and very friendly. Room was a little on the small side with no view but we were in the middle of the city. Tea making facilities were very welcome as we took our own tea bags and milk to top up supplies. Being a couple of doors away from a Carrefour express was also a plus.
Had a drink at their small bar area one night, which was a bit on the pricey side and once was enough ater that.
The hotel is in an excellent location for town and all was well.

Room Tip: difficult one this. Our room was on the back which restricted the view but made for a quiet nights s...

We stayed for 2 nights in August 2011 whilst driving through France on holiday.

Best things about the hotel:
It is well-situated, 5 minutes walk from the Butcher’s District and the covered market. And there is a Carrefour-city (small supermarket) right next door.
The shower in the deluxe room was super with wall jets as well as an overhead spray and a third outlet on a flexible cord.
The rooms in the new block are very quiet at night.

Worst things about the hotel:
The breakfast – in an airless room off Reception (there is air-conditioning but it was turned off as staff and some guests find it makes them too cold). A very poor selection of food. Three low quality cereals. The only hot choices were a bowl of scrambled eggs congealed to the point that you wouldn’t want to taste it and some small sausages. Some juices. A small selection of bread and cheese. Some really unappetising fruit salad. And all this for the bargain price of €14 (at today’s rate that’s about £13 or $20).
The high-speed wireless broadband – free but in the morning from the 5th floor of the new block, not high-speed by any means. A better speed obtained sitting in Reception but still by no means impressive. At 11pm, however, the speed from the bedroom was fine. Perhaps they haven’t purchased enough bandwidth to cope with multiple users.

The hotel is rather unprepossessing from the outside. We had been told we could book a secure outside parking space but when we tried to do this I was told we would have to park on the street. The actual car park has an unbelievably low entrance height and we had a top box.
The room was adequate and a little dated and, like the rest of the hotel, there wasn't much room to spare. The lift was amazingly small.
We went for a walk around Limoges and really did not like what we saw. It was like something from behind the Iron Curtain.
We wanted somewhere nice for dinner but could not find anywhere at all exciting. The helpful receptionist at the hotel recommended a place which turned out to be surprisingly good. Bistrot du Boucher served excellent foie gras and felt like an archetypal French bistro.
Le Richelieu was fine with good service but I would never stop in Limoges again.

Really couldnt fault anything here. The rooms are spacious and have every comfort. The staff really know the town and were able to recommend good restaurants. There is private parking for a fee. We would certainly stay here again.

I booked this hotel after extensively researching the other options in and around Limoges. I have to say that I was not disappointed. I was allocated room 315, which had clearly just been renovated and decorated and what a great job. A large comfortable double, with soft Egpytian cotton sheets and great pillows. Superb new, walk-in style shower and seperate toilet. Wi-Fi, flat screen TV and small fridge. The brand new Air-Con worked very well and despite a stifling 35' outside, I had no problems sleeping. My purpose for the two nights that I stayed here was to visit the village of Oradour-sur-Glane (25km west of Limoges) and this little hotel is ideal for such a plan. For an extra 10 Euros I was able to securely park on site. The walk into the centre Limoges is only about 7-10 minutes, uphill. The actual city I wasn't massively keen on - lots of students and a mass of the 'great unwashed' including a few beggars (never seen them on a French street before). The receptionist was friendly, helpful and professional. I didn't have breakfast there, so can't comment on that. Don't expect great things from the bar there - it is only a token one and not worth stopping at unless there is no-where else left. All in all, this is a great little hotel now and if you are only spending two, three or four nights in Limoges, then it is very worth considering. Obviously I didn't see all the rooms but it is clear that the whole place has undergone or is in the very last stages of renovation.

We stayed here for one night on our way around France. The hotel room was small and not the cleanest. It was very dated looking. The location was good though and the staff friendly. The breakfast was very simple, with not that much on offer. The boiled egg i had was partly black! Probably wouldn't recommend, unless it was a really quite stop over.
