Chanced across this as part of a European Tour. Reasonably priced, and in typical Ibis style, clean and functional. Location was perfect, within 1 minute of leaving the hotel, you are walking across one of the magnificent bridges to the centre of town. We may have been lucky, but parked in the street right outside. The room wasn't huge, but not a massive issue. If you arrive after the official dining hours have finished, as we did, do not ask for the '24 hour' food. It was 13 euros for a small bowl of some sort of pasta. Can't blame the staff, we were late and hungry, but eat out if you can!

Room Tip: I seem to recall we got the best price booking direct with the ibis website.

On the way to the South of France we needed a stop and chose Metz. After driving around for a while not finding anything we used the car navigation to look for Ibis (good price and value usually) and bingo!

Parking space in front of the hotel, room available, very friendly welcome by helpful member of staff who asked us to get in touch in case there was anything wrong with the room. Nothing was wrong, it was fine - tiny but anyway we were just going to sleep. Had to go see the guy 3 or 4 more times as we needed a fridge to keep medication and also some food for the trip. Not a hint of getting unnerved with me coming back again and again, sweet! Same at checkout, nice, efficient and friendly. Transparent pricing, no surprise at checkout.

The carpetting could be replaced, looked a little "oldish" and there was a strange smell in the lobby, can´t place it. Maybe something temporary as nobody else mentions it here.

Very good beds!

Ideal location to visit the cathedral.

For the price, this was a nice hotel. The room had good use of space for storage. The bathroom was small, but not uncomfortable. The restaurant had good menu options, and although my roast chicken was a little dry, my boyfriend said his burger was the best he's ever had, anywhere! The free WiFi worked great. The location was quite a hike from the train station, and I was rather disappointed to find that they had another branch much closer to it. But walking to do sightseeing wasn't too far. The front desk attendant was very helpful in calling a taxi to take us back to the station when we left.
