“Best to go elsewhere”
Reviewed 21 November 2013 via mobile

The poor service was without a smile and the food was poor - the only sound from the kitchen was the 'pinging' of the microwave. The food was industrial, bought in from a wholesaler and tasted like it. Go elsewhere!

“a bad experience”
Reviewed 31 July 2013

We were walking around Metz and started looking for a place to have late lunch Lunch. We decided on Le Bouchon. What a terrible mistake. There was a few other people in the resturant, we ordered a 2-course lunch menu. The food was poorly presented, and the salad was warm (it was a hot day) and as it turns out poorly prepared and we ended up with food poisoning.

“Last Supper”
Reviewed 31 December 2012

We were on our way back to the U.K. after a holiday in Austria and had decided to stay over in Metz to break the journey.

As we have a sensible dislike of "formula" restaurants and fast food we were looking for somewhere more traditional to enjoy our last dinner before leaving France. By chance we found Le Bouchon in the Rue Ladoucette in the town centre.

This was exactly what we were looking for and as we were relatively early the friendly staff had a table for us. The food was simple but very well cooked with a good selection from either the fixed price menus or a la carte. Wines were also good with a nice selection of inexpensive house wines available. The place soon filled up and there was a very good "buzzy" and lively atmosphere. Just right! It can be difficult to find good places in busy town centres especially in winter, in the dark, and even when there is a big list to choose from; which is why I am recommending Le Bouchon as somewhere to make for.

Don't just put up with a pizza or burger when places like this are around. Good French cooking, reasonable prices, good friendly service. Try it.
