“Great little hotel”

Very conveniently located, walking distance to all the old city and the St Cecile Cathedral; Indeed a Great Bed & Breakfast hotel only ; but who needs a restaurant here when you have so many great eateries nearby?? and the Albi city is very beautiful to walk within.
Rooms are very comfortable and very clean + have A.C if needed.. - did not really need a minibar in the room...!
Enjoy the breakfast - very good vairty and all you need - including the very hight quality homemade yoghurt!
All ladies working there are very enjoyable to talk and very helpful ;
I will return.

Room Tip: Had a room looking over the very nice garden

Claiming to be one of THE oldest hotels in France, the hotel is located at a right-angle behind Rue Saint-Antoine. It is heralded by a curious wrought iron sign attached over the entrance. If travelling by cat, you'll need to drop off your bags, and go around the back of the hotel for ample parking in a surveiled yard. I have little to complain about (for once - for those who know my gripes on Tripadvisor!) this property. A charming and helpful receptionist had allocated us room No. 101 which was rather special. With a totally Japanese theme, highlighted by silk paintings on the suite wall, pretty dividing doors and an effective air conditioning unit. The room overlooked the narrow street outside which also overlooks the players' entrance to the back of a local theatre. The bed was extremely comfortable, good wifi connection, and ample storage space for luggage and clothes. Not much space to place toiletries and cosmetics in the bathroom, meant wetbags were placed on the floor. Multi-channel tv. The hotel does not have a restaurant, but many excellent establishments are easily reached (within walking distance) nearby. Dramatic storm the night we were there, meant that yours truly made a dash out with umbrella to nearby pizza place, Chez Carole (see separate review of mine about that place)which was was adjacent to L'Épicurien (42 pl. Jean-Jaurès) which we HAD planned to visit, buit Mrs F wouldn't take on the stormy night! Instead,we ate said fine pizza with a bottle of local vin rouge and watched French drama while it pelted outside (tres romantique!).

Breakfast is a bog standard French buffet affair. There is a pretty courtyard leading off the eating area - which leads into the car park at rear.

Room Tip: Get room 101 if you can. Worth it!

we paid 188 euros for the night for 3 adult beds
no view, no mini bar, 2 out of 3 bad beds (owner claimed that beds changed 2 years ago, was she poorly advised?)
plus 12 p nte for parking and 17 pp x 2 for breakfast (went out the second morning) including excellent home made yogurt!
all in all a costly undertaking ...questioning value for money
however, the reception (except Sunday noon perhaps) was cheerful, very helpful and welcoming. The location is what they seem to be capitalising on!!! it is perfect. no need for the car, to enjoy this gorgeous site.

Room Tip: we were on high floor street side, neighbors across no restaurant services (just breakfast)

This hotel (or should I say hostellerie) is definitely three star. It does not have the facilities for it to rate a four star. Tiny rooms, no safe, no tea and coffee making facilities. The lift was about two feet from the bed so you could hear it going up and down, this would not be a problem in all the rooms, however it was in ours.

On the upside, it had a nice garden courtyard you could sit in and a lovely sun room. The breakfast was adequate with a choice of cereals, breads, cheese, meats and a small hot breakfast option. The hotel has a wonderful history and has been owned by the same family for five generations. If you went there expecting a good 2 star or an average 3 star you probably would not be disappointed. A four star –no way.

I stayed in this Hotel as part of an Insight Vacations tour of France
A real disappointment as it was all facade, nothing to inspire at all. The pluses were its cleanliness, its staff and the Pillows and Bed, all 10/10. Infact the staff were outstanding!
Against it was a lot...
The air conditioning did not work and was not able to be fixed.
The room was very small and quite hot.
No safe in the room.
No mini bar in the room.
One very tiny elevator.
The shower (over the bath) was hand held only
Breakfast was awful. Everything cold, unappetising and a very poor selection.
And this Hotel claims to be a 4 star!!!!!!!
I would rate it 5/10 and would never stay there again

Everything was very good at this well-located, familly-owned hotel in Albi, France where I stayed for 3 nights. The owner was not only extremely accommodating (1 person in our group had very special needs) but very gracious. The employees at the front desk (I wish I remembered her name) were amazingly helpful to our group. The breakfast buffet has a wide assortment and is very good. Each room is different--mine was spacious, lovely and quiet (with an extra inner door). The push-button shutter keeps the light out. There was a large magnifying mirror in the bathroom. Outside the well-furnished reception area is a garden with tables and chairs--a perfect place to enjoy wine and hors d'oeuvres.

Room Tip: Each room is different, so you should specify your particular needs.

Right from the start we were made most welcome. The car park (which is accessed from the road at the rear) is large and secure and you can walk through the garden to the rear door of the hotel.
We had a Junior Privilege suite (Room 30) which was rather compact. It had a room divider between the double bed and a sitting area, off which there was a single bed in a curtained-off recess. The tv swivelled so that it could be seen from either area but there was no digital service so no channels in English. The décor was a little bit tired looking and the rug was in need of a clean. The lighting was poor and in order to read in bed I had to remove the black lampshades from the bedside lamps.
There was a good selection of food for breakfast and it was reasonably priced.
The hotel is located very near to the old town so makes an excellent base for exploring the delights of Albi.
Our minor criticisms would not stop us from staying here again.
