“Very nice, and not so little, museum”

The museum housed in a former bishop's palace is a delight. It gives you a good insight into the works of TL and paints a clear picture of the artist's mindset and factors that played the role in creating many of his well-known works. Too bad that guided tours were not offered.

The museum is quite extensive, which means that if you come in the morning during offseason you only have two hours for your visit before the museum shuts down again for lunch. That was not enough time for us, so after lunch visit might work better.

Also try to catch their movie about the artist if the timing works.

Well laid out, informative and a superb collection of his paintings, sketches and posters tracking through his life as a painter. Thoroughly recommend.

“A wonderful treasure”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 October 2013 via mobile

This museum was a wonderful place to visit in Albi. The exhibits were organized very efficiently. I enjoyed the English explanation cards that were in each room. The museum itself is a wonderful building. And of course the paintings, pictures, and posters are enchanting. The exhibit is organized chronologically which made it easier to understand.
I would highly recommend that anyone visiting Albi spend a couple of hours wandering through this wonderful collection of art.

“Extensive collection.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 October 2013

Very nice exhibit. Good value for your money if you have the time for the audio tour and to see all artwork. I went with a person that had no interest in art so it was frustrating for me and entirely too quick.
Situated next to the cathedral with lots of restaurants surrounding. Bathroom facilities are down a few flights of stairs.

Getting up close to the sketches and the drawings made before really famous works were painted and seeing photo's of the artists' life was fantastic.
