We had a meal there, 2 couples and 5 young children and took place at the back of the room (empty due to nice weather, everyone on the terrasse) and although we were right next to the bar, the staff seemed to constantly forget about us, despite our best efforts to get their attention. Food was very average and service was slow and indifferent - you felt treated like "a tourist", who will never come back so why bother giving them good service... (well, a good tip, maybe?) At the beginning, they forgot one of the drinks ordered so we were about 10mns trying to get their attention again, and at the end they mixed up all the desserts, we constantly had to ask for bread, it was just all a little hard work and not a particularly enjoyable experience.

One of four or five restaurants in a row by the Cathedral. On a Monday, none of the restaurants recommended in Lonely Planet was open. We chose this one because the patron gave us a very gentle sell as we were reading menus in the street. He said all the food was home made, including the chips! He seemed to be right. We had chicken caesar salad and ris de veau, followed by the glace. The pichet rouge was particularly good.

As a family member recommended us a nearby restaurant, driving home after a short but ver nice vacation in Dordogne/France, we had decicided to visit Albi with its *** Michelin impressive catheral, reckognized by UNESCO as World Heritage. As the recommended restaurant was closed on monday, we walked around the cathedral and passed by the restaurant Les Jardins de l'Archevêché (15 bis, Place de l'Archevêché, 81000 Albi). It was getting a bit cold, but too early for supper, but the ciity was rather empty and we did not find any bar to have a drink. As the owner of the restaurant stood in front of his restaurant we asked him if we just could have a drink. He replied that it was no problem at all. Knowing that Gaillac is a local wine, we asked his advise. As we did not know the local wine, he offerted us free of charge to taste the wine we would like to drink, a service one will find in very few restaurants. Being happy with the service and the food mentioned on the menu, we decided to have supper there. As we liked several of the dishes, the restaurant owner offered us to share the dishes so we could taste as many as six dishes, sharing the portions, brought AT THE TIME we wished to eat them. Excellent food at a very reasonable price with a more than excellent servce!
Highly recommendable.

We had a great time in this restaurant whilst having dinner. You have normal tables and bar tables. We choose a higher bar table with a view towards the kathedral and the museum of Toulouse lautrec. Beautifully lit in the evening.

The staf was very friendly and they have an english version of the menu.
There are set menus (18, 23 and 27 euro) but we ordered a la carte. Three courses and everything was delicious. Some examples of starters: Homemade half-cooked duck foie gras with onion marmelade, Salmon rillettes, assorted cold meats from local butcher Phillipe Grezes or beef carpaccio. Wonderful homemade pasta's so big they serve as a main course.

Lunch menus from 9 to 15 euro!
