“Whoops - wrong photo”

This is the only way I can find to reply to your e-mail re. Albi. I live close to Albi, and the picture you have labelled Park Rochegude is in fact the interior of the Cathédrale Sainte-Cécile. Your external shot of this magnificent cathedral is very, VERY poor. Take a look at the fabulous pics available online.

Best.

“What a garden!”
Reviewed 2 August 2013

The former owners of this fine town house (now closed, alas) were tree collectors, and the number of different trees they planted and which are now vast is phenomenal. It gives us a small shady park with constant surprises, from vast cedars to clumps of tall springy bamboos and chattering ducks. Always a pleasure to spend time in with a book!

“Ducks, fish and trees.”
Reviewed 9 July 2013

The park is a bit out of centre but within easy walking distance. It is an ideal place for a quiet stroll away from the tourists or a quick snack on a park bench. It has an interesting but modest collection of trees labelled in French, Latin and English and a couple of ponds with large carp and various waterfowl. Not particuarly exciting, I have to admit but it fulfils its function of providing a low key relaxing area with a few topics of interest. Sadly, Rochegude's passion for the Occitan language is mentioned in the welcome signage along with his various other accomplishments but there is absolutely no use of Occitan at all in the signage and labelling. A bit of a slap in the face for the old boy

“An oasis”
Reviewed 20 September 2012

A small but superb park -- formerly the garden of an aristocratic town house -- that houses the ancient owners' astonishing botanical collection of now-mature trees, and gives you the feeling of being much farther away from the town's bustle than you really are. Good place to wander slowly, kiss your significant other, or sit on a bench and read a good book while the children enjoy the playground.
