Reviewed 2 August 2013

The people who ran the hotel were very friendly and helpful. The bed was clean and comfortable. The location was very central with free parking nearby. It was nice to have the outside space of the large covered terrace (despite the 'views' of air con units, assorted pipes and flues and the opposite neighbours' junk strewn patio) It was also good to have tea and coffee making facilities in the room - unusual for France - and a mini fridge. The breakfast was plentiful.
Our room was very small - although I'm aware that room sizes in the hotel vary greatly. The bathroom was minuscule! There wasn't much space either side of the small double bed either, and you had to push the bed up against the wall to access the inward opening doors to the terrace. The floor and terrace was not cleaned properly (dust bunnies on the bedroom floor, a broken parasol base and something nasty hanging off the fencing on the terrace, and a very grubby strip of carpet across the threshold of the terrace doors) and there was black mold on the wall near the terrace doors.

We arrived on our motorcycle and were offered a lovely double room with an enclosed terrace. The bike was pushed into the conference room and secured for the night! Lovely restaurant across the road with al fresco dining, great food and very attentive staff - excellent value. Breakfast in the hotel after a comfortable sleep was continental style and lots of it.

We picked this hotel because of high ratings on TA and Venere, but were disappointed in a few important respects. First, the positives: the hotel is very conveniently located for enjoying the old town (a ten minute) walk; there is plenty of free parking a block away in what seemed to be a secure situation; and the one woman who seemed to be doing reception as well as breakfast was very friendly and helpful. However, there were a couple of problems. First, travelers should know that there is no lift, so if you are going to have problems getting up a narrow spiral staircase (with or without bags), this could be a problem. Second, only after unpacking, we discovered that the room lock wasn’t functioning. We didn’t feel terribly unsafe, but it was clearly not working and should have been picked up by the staff. And finally, the new shower scheme is a disaster. We’ve traveled in dozens of countries around the world often baffled by shower fixtures, but this one takes the cake. A hyper-moderne flat curved fixture sprays water from the top, a hand-held, and the middle – flooding the curtain-less stall and the bathroom. The hot-cold only produced very hot – but the pulsing red and green “disco” lights on the hand-held worked just fine.

We enjoyed our stay here but don't choose the cheapest room! It's too small and doesn't smell too good. Other rooms are much better. The staff here are lovely and friendly, helpful. It's easy to walk to any part of the old town and free parking is nearby.

The manager of this hotel is lovely, friendly and very helpful. However, our room was pretty awful--very dark and dreary, with furnishings circa 1970. There was a bad smell on the stairs and landing during our 3 night stay, and we never had enough hot water to actually use the tub. One of the very few times I've been so disappointed with a hotel this highly rated on trip advisor.

The manager is extremely helpful. We were in Albi for a wedding and the hotel was taken over by guests - he set up a room with iron, board and hangers, etc. - proactive accommodation of guests' needs. Our room was great - king-size bed with Audrey Hepburn keeping watch. Recommend lights out in the bathroom to get the full effect of the disco lights coming from the shower head - different?
The location is very good, just five minutes walk from the centre and cathedral.

Room Tip: Try to get a room not overlooking the main road - although a small one, it seems to b very busy and...

Stayed at the hotel while visiting Albi for a wedding. Lovely, small hotel in city centre, walking distance from the historic centre of Albi with loads of bars and restaurants close by. Good value for the price. The staff speak pretty good english and were very helpful both in terms of info about things and also for making reservations etc. The rooms are all decorated slightly differently and are tasteful. Our room was reasonably sized and some of the other rooms had verandahs which was great. However a few of the rooms were very small and with cramped bathrooms. Breakfast was 8 euros which was poor value, especially given that there was a great patisserie round the corner which also did coffee. But all in all thought it was a great value hotel.
