Residence Le Soleil

We stayed here for a week and had no problems with the room or the service. Was very good to have a kitchenette, which saves you a lot with the dear prices in Lourdes. The room was comfortable but the beds and the bed sheets could be better. Also good that you have a bit of time in the morning, as the room maid only starts cleaning from 2pm which is good not having to be out early. The Le Soleil is a good 15 mins walk from the Grotto which might be a bit far for anyone with a difficulty walking. The bus from the train station also stops very close to Le Soleil. I would definitely stay here again.

The lady took great care of us. Very warm people. It was farther away t hough from the grotto than we thought. Could stay there again but would prefer a more modern hotel. It was sad that for 5 nights, the room was cleaned only ONCE with beddings changed.

This hotel exceeded my expectations. It is a great value for the price, amenities and service provided. The hotel must have had a renovation recently as the rooms(curtains and bed coverings) and front desk look much better in person than the professional photos in the site.
We were a group of 24 people, and had reserved 7 rooms. The check-in was a breeze and flawless. Didier, the front desk staff had all keys to the rooms ready, a map and hotel info to hand out, and just a pleasure in providing assistance (Taxi service, ice, Cups, etc.). He provided kitchen utensils, pots and pans, iron, and everything that we asked. The other staff in the hotel were very pleasant as well and helpful. Maria, the lady serving breakfast was quick and efficient. There is no one in the reception area after 9 PM and one has to use the acess code to enter the hotel.Wifi is free and fast and there is also a computer to use in the lobby. The rooms are big, clean and toiletries are refilled daily. Since we came during the off pilgrimage season, it is very quiet in the area. There are no restaurants nearby that is open other than the Pizza Place around the block. Didier recommends good value and quality places to eat in the Old Town. He also booked Taxis for us.Taxi (Van) to Old Town is 18 Euros for 8 people.I will definitely return to this hotel on my next visit to Lourdes for it's homey, warm and welcoming ambiance and experience.

Room Tip: There is only one elevator and is quite slow so I recommend the 1st Floor as it is quicker to get th...

Me and multiple groups of my friends have stayed here for the last 2 years during September. The rooms cater for all our needs well and are very nice. The price of the rooms are extremely good value for what you get. Given that we are out of the hotel for the vast majority of the day we don't expect much in terms of service but what little service we do get is delightful. The young male receptionist, I can honestly say, is the nicest hotel worker I've ever come across. He always greets you with a kind Hello and some conversation. I don't know the man too well but I could only describe as an absolute gentleman. There were two occasions where he really made a good impression on us which make us go back every year. The first was when we had locked ourselves out of our room. It was quite late at night and reception had been closed for quite some time. We called the number that was left in reception and the man arrived shortly afterwards to open up the room for us despite the fact that he was in the middle of a date with his girlfriend. The second time was when we had made a lot of noise the night before when we arrived home in a not so sober state. We went down the next morning expecting an earful like most young people our age get in most places we stay but instead he just had a polite little word with us asking us if we wouldn't mind just keeping it down a little bit in future but it wasn't a big deal. This may seem like nothing to some older people but when you're young like us and are constantly receiving lectures from hotel staff which doesn't really make us keep more quiet at all. We didn't make a sound from there on out of respect to him. He truely is a model in service.

I was lodging at Residence du soleil with a friend between 2nd December2012-9th December2012. The staff were very friendly and they spoke English too. We found the room as was advertised. Room cleaning was every day. It had a kitchenette and we made used of it very often. The room was spacious and very quiet. Good value for money. It was only 15mins walk from the Grotto. I would recommend it to anyone. Restaurant is only open during summer season but one could get an nice breakfast for only 8 Euros in the hotel all year round

This hotel was very practical for us, very conveniently located and very cheap as well. We stayed one night in this hotel, it's comfortable and clean with our own private bathroom, which made me nervous initially when I was booking because it was not stated in the description. But needless to say, there was one! I will stay in this hotel if ever I visit Lourdes again and I would recommend this hotel to my friends.

We originally booked Angelic & Myriam Hotel in Lourdes but alas, upon our arrival we found that it was closed because a big group of guests cancelled earlier & it was only us left. However, the staff there accommodated us in this Residence Le Soleil which belong to the same owners as Angelic & Myriam & to compensate for our trouble, they upgraded our room & provided us free breakfast. We found our room big with comfortable beds & all amenities including a little kitchen complete with all utensils! it was actually an apartelle!. They also provide free wifi & free use of their computer/internet in their lobby.. It was a walking distance to the sanctuary but farther than Angelic & Myriam & going uphill which was quite arduous for some people.Anyway, it was like a surprise treat for us for just an overnight stay & the view along the way is beautiful passing the River Gave.
