“ATTENTION ALL DISABLED GROUP LEADERS!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 September 2013

We're just home from 7 nights at the Hotel Ariane - what an amazing experience! Our group consisted of 8 people with learning disabilites some with some physical disabilities and 8 carers. From the moment we arrived we felt that the Ariane was home from home; rooms much the same specification of other Lourdes hotels we have used, but what made a difference was the fantastic service we received from every one of the hotel staff. The ground floor dining room was spacious and well organised, and was only yards away from the lounge which was spacious enough for us to enjoy even the rainy days we had! The hotel's proximity to the Domain was ideal
The hotel's 2 roomy lifts made life very easy for us. I would strongly recommend this as a base for groups travelling with disabled pilgrims. We look forward to next year!

Room Tip: Laurence at reception is only too happy to accomodate groups in adjacent rooms.

stayed there in the beginning of September 2013,we had free WiFi and good connectivity trough the 6th floor, air conditioning in our room. room cleaned everyday, new clean towels daily, toilet paper filled everyday, bed made daily. the breakfast is basic but filling, there was orange juice and coffee, tea, hot chocolate, croissant, bread ham and cheese. lunch always had starter, main course and dessert and for dinner always 3 course meal plus dessert. always presented with free water. and if you are full from food you can always ask for more. even our packed lunch was very good and contained of a lot of food when we had a full day outing since we were on full board basis. the stuff workers were amazing and the food was very good. i would definitely go back. it was very close to the grotto.

Stayed here as part of a group of 60 as we were unable to stay in the booked hotel due to recent flooding. Room was dated and the bedding did not smell fresh (though the sheets were clean). Bed made each day, but bathroom not cleaned and floor not hoovered. Bathroom generally stunk!! Was on full board basis - breakfast was dire (worst I have ever had) ... croissant and small French bread roll. Lunch and dinner were interchangeable and consisted of starter, main course (which tended to be meat of some description and one vegetable) and pudding, which all tended to be bland and pretty tasteless. Would I go back NO, did I complain no, as we were grateful to be able to go to Lourdes at all. Rooms at the back of the hotel were very noisy and people were kept awake until the early hours and rooms on the 2nd floor had to cope with cigarette smoke coming through the air conditioning ... probably the worst hotel I have ever stayed in! On the plus side, it was in a great location!

My wife and I stayed here between the 27th March 2013 to 31st March. The hotel is very clean and a plus was that we booked a double room and we got a triple room, so we had more than enough space. The breakfast was basic 1 croissant,1 roll, 1 piece of ham and half slice of cheese, coffee or tea and Juice. But the lunch was a 2 course meal plus a dessert and the dinner was a 3 course meal plus a dessert. For us we had more than enough. The staff was nice and always with a smile on there face. If I come back again I would definitely stay in this hotel again.

The hotel is very near the Grotto, so this was a plus. The staff were very pleasant especially in the dining room. Breakfast was the same every morning but sufficed. As we did not eat there in the evening I cannot comment. The hotel was adequate and there was plenty of hot water and clean towels every day.Would we stay there again? probably, as the rates were reasonable in comparison to others around. I would hope to see some refurbishment in our room.

This year my wife and I returned to the
Ariane for three nights. We where both rather aphrenhensive having stayed several times over the past ten years or so. how ever we had a very pleasant surprise. The room we where given was spacious, clean & appeared to have been modernised not to long ago! 95% of the staff are absolutely wonderful. Also a choice of menu at brekfast was a welcome change from just bread & jam. Unfortunately the owner never appears to be happy. Surely a smile would not hurt occasionally or cost anything! The one thing that always stays the same is the wonderful night porter/ bar man who is alway smiling and always has time for everyone!! I do appreciate earlier remarks voiced by other contributors, but I must say in our opinion the hotel on the whole is certainly trying to improve! However the main entrance is still a problem for the disabled!!

I spent last week at this hotel as part of a group of thirteen people. I was lucky to be given a room with a reconditioned bathroom with a walk in shower: other were not so lucky and had to cope with stepping in/out a bath. The reception are is pleasant enough, as is the part of the dining room which looks onto the road. My bedroom overlooked the terrace of a neighbouring hotel which was very noisy at night. The staff were pleasant and friendly but the food was uninspiring and sometimes cold. I discovered that the food was prepared centrally and then brought to the hotel to be heated. This was my second time staying at the Ariane;; I shall try to avoid it in future! While room was cleaned daily, it seemed to be "stale"; I suspect the duvet cover needed changing/washing.

Room Tip: Insist on one of the refurbished bathrooms
