We stayed at this hotel for two nights in May. When we checked in, the woman at the front desk was extremely friendly and helpful. She showed us to our room, made our dinner reservation and then when we came down to dinner, led us into the dining room and got us seated at our table.

It is a short (5 – 10 minute) walk to the Grotto/Shrine area from the hotel. The public areas of the hotel are very, very nice. The rooms themselves are comparable to a well maintained Holiday Inn room – clean and well equipped, but not fancy.

We were getting totally confused by the vast amount of hotels available for visitors to Lourdes, but relying on Trip Advisor paid off as our stay at Hotel Paradis was fantastic. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and relaxed, with nothing being too much trouble for the attentive and kind staff of the hotel. Both ladies on reception and Jean-Luc are to be congratulated for their professionalism and generosity, helping to make our trip to Lourdes unforgettable. We will definitely be back!

My parish stayed here with Leisure Time Travel in July and we had a fantastic time.
The reception we recieved in the hotel was fantastic which allowed us a true pilgrimage with plenty of time for prayer and a lot of time for enjoyment in the hotel. Food was delightful! Definitely recommend.

Just spent a weekend with my father in Hotel Paradis and would highly recommend it for any traveller contemplating a trip to Lourdes. Location for us was ideal- only 7 mins walk to Grotto and pleasurably distanced from the madding crowds. Ambiance in hotel is luxurious and elegant. Beautiful surroundings- lots of beautiful salons to relax and unwind in.Madame Cassin , the owner, has immaculate taste and it shows in the environs of her establishment. Staff are amazing...Jean-Luc in reception is incredibly professional and nothing is too much trouble. Kathy, who works all over the hotel,is an exceptional staff member. She is so kind and welcoming- any queries were aways dealt with a smile and she came to wave us off at the end of our trip. Jean Michel in the dining area delivers excellent service and ensures all are enjoying their dining experience. I had heard horror stories re: Lourdes hotel food- but the Paradis standard is very good. There is no choice on the menu, but we found the cuisine excellent. (I did hear others requesting eg coeliac meals and this was no problem with staff ).There is also a rooftop terrace, which we availed of on a sunny day...All in all - would definitely recommend the Paradis Hotel- in all respects it delivers, and staff are amazing.

Mum and I stayed in the Paradis from 3rd - 7th May 2010. The hotel staff, especially Cathy where so helpful. The food was out of this world three courses for lunch and dinner I've put on about half a stone. The meals were very varied and catered for all tastes. Mum and I stayed here 12 years ago and as far as we can see nothing has changed, and no standards have slipped. The rooms were so clean and the towels were changed daily and beds made every morning. The cleaning ladies were also very polite and helpful. We had a room facing the mountains and even though the weather was bad for most of our week it was beautiful to look at the snow covered mountains. We had a problem with the tv aerial and it was sorted within 24 hours with apologies. I can find no fault with this hotel, mum and I had a fabulous pilgrimage and are now both on diets. I would recommend this hotel to anybody. We flew BMI baby with Mancunia and we would also recommend them very highly for their organised and efficient way of working. Michael was our rep and he was extremely helpful and efficient.

The hotel rooms look a bit like dormitories, but for the price we paid (I believe we got about SGD 70 or so per night) it was so much better than I expected!

Staff
Extremely friendly and go the extra mile to tell you about Lourdes.

Bathrooms
Excellent. Clean and good water flow.
I especially liked the fact that the toilets and the showers were separated - that way I could use the potty even when my aunt was bathing!

Location
About the only thing I could fault. If you're travelling with people with knee problems or with the disabled, this might not be such a good choice as it is located down a moderately steep slope. It's not unmanageable, but could be quite tiring. Hotel Mercure is on top of this slope.
It is otherwise within reasonable walking distance (about 10min) of the Grotto.

Caveats
This hotel is extremely basic, about all that's provided in terms of amenities are towels, a bar of soap, some shampoo and a hair dryer. There isn't any tea or kettle etc.
The room decor isn't a pretty sight either, but the beds are comfortable!

Tip: Do not buy groceries from the convenience store behind the hotel unless u absolutely have to. They charge an arm and a leg for water!

I have just returned from a 4 day stay at the Paradis with my mum (70) and my son (13).

I wanted to write how fantastic the staff in the hotel were. In particular Katherine, an Irish Lady, who was busy rushing around the hotel, whether it was the reception desk, the shop or the restaurant, nothing was ever too much trouble for her and she was adorable. There were not many children in the hotel but Katherine made sure that my son had a special delivery of ice-cream for evening meal - very thoughful.

The hotel has a very friendly feel about it, the large reception/bar area was great for meeting other guests.

The food was enjoyed by everyone - I'm probably too fussy but it was OK for me too.

The rooms were large and very clean.

The location was perfect as it was only a leisurely 5 minute walk to the Grotto etc.

I would recommend this hotel and would definetly stay there again.
