Campanile Montauban

"Scruffy" is the word that comes to mind. Apart from the reception/restaurant block, the whole site seemed neglected with weeds growing everywhere, fencing broken and much paintwork in need of refreshing. The room was the old-style typical Campanile room, therefore more than just adequate. The food was okay, though lacking variety. The service was very mixed: one lady in particular was superbly helpful, but when she was off-duty, the staff did not seem to care.
The site also suffers from a lot of road noise.

We have stayed at campanile before and were especially looking forward to the food in the restaurant. Our stay was spoiled by there being no chef to cook any food and the buffet being restricted, bland and seriously over priced. It looked pretty but definitely style over substance. The room was shabby, pillows were lumpy like sleeping on a bag of tennis balls! The air conditioning didn't work and because the window stay was broken we couldn't sleep with the window open. A very uncomfortable night. The staff were friendly and efficient but we have booked in further campaniles on our trip through France and sincerely hope they are better than this one.

We arrived quite late on route to Spain so used this as a stopover. Room rates are higher than Ibis or Premiere Class but the standard of the room was also higher with good Air conditioning. Car Park is locked at night - you have access code so is safe and secure. Very quiet Car Park facing rooms away from any road noise. we slept as a family very well.

We did not use the restaurant choosing to use local places wihtin just a few minutes drive from the hotel. We left early before breakfast but the menu looked fineto me.

Only negative is that I booked this hotel online at an agreed rate of 59 Euros Promotion Price and then found out that Campanile have charged 79.60 Euro to my Visa Card. They have failed to answer my E Mails and you cant get an answer from the phoneline through to their Central Reservations. This has resulted in me having to make a formal complaint about them to my bank which seems a completely unnecessary irritant and I am still 20 Euro out of pocket.

They need to sort this out and honour their online agreement. That aside, I would use the hotel again. Staff when I arrived were very friendly and helpful.

We found the hotel very easily. Reception and check-in was fast and receptionist very friendly.

The room was ok, not too bad a size, comfortable and clean. The air conditioning was a bonus.

We ate in the restaurant and the meal was ok, but you can obtain better value for money elsewhere.

Check out was speedy. The car park filled quickly and the parking spaces are rather narrow, not so good for a three-door car.

We pre booked 2 rooms on the Campanile Website, arrived at about 6pm. From the onset the staff were extremely polite and helpful. Despite us being French speakers we were spoken to in English.
The rooms were clean with en suite facilities and TV.

We ate in the adjoining restaurant which was acceptable and not too dear. It saved us looking for a restaurant in the Town. The Hotel is just off the main auto route but well out of Montauban.

Not bad

a very dodgy room at Rocamadour and no room led us To Cahors where we were sure we'd get something for the night- bit like Jesus & Mary no room at the inn. I know a lot of pilrgrims come to this area but this was ridiculous!
However Marian at Campanile Cahors was a real star and booked us in at Montauban
We arrived odd the motorway in the dark to an industrial estate and managed to find it hidden round the back roads. Reminded me of the truckers motels in the US. However reception friendly, restaurant looked ok but was closed and room, which we parked outside of was basic but freshly painted and very clean.
Even some toiletries!! Slept like a log due to mileage exhaustion and the wifi came in handy to emergency book our next stay as things were looking so busy!!
Leaving in the morning it wouldn't have been a place we would have chosen but thanks to all at Campanile for not having to sleep in the car. Merci!

Room Tip: hmmm all seemed the same, choose another hotel?

Arrived after a long car journey. booked two rooms they were clean and tidy, although very noisy next to car park and adjacent hotel. The poor service began in the restaurant, the waitress and chef were both rudde, and insisted they did not understand us. We requested ala carte menu, waitress took orders, only to return with, no eggs, no steak, no potatoes, no vegetables. And yet people arriving after us sat down to all of these products, we complained, to the waitress who eventually bought out the most terrible inedible meal we have ever had during 47 yrs of travel, the dinner you would not put down for your dog. We actually refused the meal and went to bed hungry. The morning buffet was excellent. The food was prepared fresh and inviting. When we returned to our rooms to pack our car, both the doors were wide open for anyone to take what they wanted, we just wanted to get away from here asap. The bill was disgusting high for the appalling service. Upon our return home, we wrote and emailed their guest relation team, who insulted our intelligence with a voucher off on our next stay in any campanile 20 euro, off the food . What a joke, we didnt know whether to laugh or cry. we emailed back, but they again said they were not going to refund for the evening meal, that is all we requested. They did not make any coomments on their poor service and not on the door saga. Please avoid, ok if you want room and breakfast, avoid restaurant eat elsewhere. Awaiting for a further response as we do not feel they have actually taken aboard our issues.
