What a fantastic surprise when we arrived at this beautiful Hotel Beau Site and we were lucky enough to be allocated a room overlooking the gorge. Unfortunately we arrived at the hotel approximately 6 hours late, no fault of Treyn Holidays as there were problems with Eurostar and we were delayed 2 hours resulting in us missing our 13h52 connection from Paris to Brive. Well done to our tour manager who worked so hard to book 34 seats on the 17h42 (the previous two trains were fully booked and we sat on the station for 4 hours!) and we eventually arrived into our rooms at nearly 2 in the morning. We had missed our evening meal which was a shame as we were only there for 5 nights. Out of the four tours which Treyn offer to the Dordogne we chose this because of the hotel's position and believe me we had checked all of the reviews. The accommodation at the hotel was brilliant, our room was quirky and beautifully clean. Breakfast was good with a choice of plenty of breads, pastries, cheeses, ham, pate etc with cereals and fruit. Help yourself to as much tea, coffee and fruit juice as you wish, everything you would expect. Whilst we appreciate the logistics of holidaying in a fairly large group we were extremely disappointed with the evening meal. There was no choice at all and we were served with one starter, main course, a slice of cheese with nothing else and then a sweet. No coffee! The bonus was that we were served with wine at the table which was very good. Again our tour manager stepped in and arranged for those who did not wish to have the main meal to have an omelette with salad and chips. We also felt as though we were second class citizens as we were not allowed to sit by the windows to enjoy the view or sit on the outside area. Come on Treyn holidays, please arrange for at least a choice of two on each course even if a decision has to made the evening before or at breakfast.
We enjoyed all of the excursions which were arranged and we really appreciated our free time to explore the pilgrimage site of Rocamadour, it met all of our expectations.
Our tour manager was wonderful, he kept us well informed and we knew exactly the arrangements for all of the excursions.
I am not sure we would book again with Treyn Holidays, it was our first organised rail holiday. We were extremely cross that if we had taken our arranged train from Paris to Brive we would not have been sat together, our seats were 77 and 91! One good thing about being delayed my partner and I sat together on the later train. On our return journey from Brive to Paris again we were not sat together - seats 31 and 37. Come on Treyn holidays get your act together, surely you must know approximately how many seats you need fairly well in advance. You are booking loads of holidays with SNCF, youmust have a good relationship with them! There were a lot of us not with our partners and it appeared extremely difficult for the tour manager to match seats together, not his fault. When we book our holiday we expect to sit together.
Our first Treyn holiday and maybe the last.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the gorge.

Our family rented three rooms and everyone thought their room had the best view! Staff parked our car for us in their tiny parking lot right in the heart of town beside the hotel. Enjoyed the bistro restaurant food far more than their upscale restaurant. The cassoulet was incredible. We were late for the breakfast buffet one morning and were turned away - the manager was nearby and had them hold the buffet open and set us a table. Be sure to check out the secret salon under the stone staircase. Would definitely stay here again.

Well this is certainly a very charming hotel in the most wonderful location. We travelled with a group organised by Treyn holidays. There were 34 of us altogether and it soon became very clear that we were second rate guests every step of the way. Breakfast was very basic - the usual continental fare and I would have been quite happy with that but, on the first day, the restaurant was teeming with flies which crawled all over the uncovered food. (Bread, croissants, cake, fruit etc.) I was really really put off as this was clearly a hygiene problem. Our tour manager had a word with the restaurant staff and the following day it was much better but still there were one or two flies on the bread and cakes. The food in the evening was really lovely but there was was only one choice of menu. The only option was to ask for an omlette so vegetarians would have been very bored by the end of the holiday! We saw other (non Treyn) guests enjoying a marvellous variety of food which was not available to us. Having said that, it is clear that, by limiting the choice, it meant that the cost of our holiday was kept low and this is understood. We found most of the staff at breakfast quite surly, although some of the evening waiters were lovely, if a little nervous-looking!!

Our room was in the old building and was a little strange, in that the door opened straight into a bathroom area. The first thing you see on entering the room is a wash basin and a shower! The toilet is separate but tiny (you have to reverse into it!). So, basically, our room contained a bed, shower and wash basin. Good job we knew each other very well. On the other hand, we understand that it is an old building, full of charm, and we soon got used to the showering routine. There is a lovely window with a Juliette balcony that you can look out of whilst lying on the bed. It has a splendid view and I could have lain there all day, gazing out! The bed is comfy but there are no drawers at all and just two very small spaces for hanging clothes. No bedside tables but there is a shelf above the bed (a bit awkward for things like books, reading specs etc.)

We were delayed getting to the hotel and were provided with tea and coffee on arrival (very nice). We got to bed at about 3.a.m. thinking we'd have a lie-in but beware the church bells which begin at 7 a.m. and chime every quarter of an hour. The first day we swore a bit but we actually got to love them and I'd really like to hear them again now!

I would have rated this hotel more highly if it were not for the fly problem at breakfast. It is in a lovely location. If you do go here - enjoy!!

Room Tip: I think the rooms across the road where the restaurant is are bigger and better (from what I underst...

We spent one night here in one of their junior suites. This was a beautiful room with views of both the valley below as well as the cliffside structures. The jr. suite was quite large with a king bed, two comfortable chairs, a coffee table and a desk. The bathroom was also very large with a big shower and a separate bathtub. This junior suite (I believe it was #59) was located in the annex building which has the bar and restaurant.

We had an outstanding dinner - one of the best we've ever had and sat outside with wonderful views. The breakfast was a total disappointment, however, at least for American tastes. No hot dishes and a lot of cold meats and some kind of cold sausage that did not look at all appealing. They did offer croissants but they were so small that I needed to eat four of them to equal one normal croissant. The breakfast seemed to be more geared to German tastes and there was a German group there, so perhaps the breakfast was tailored to their tastes.

The staff was WONDERFUL, very friendly, good humor, and spoke perfect English. They couldn't have been more helpful.

This is a perfect place to stay in Rocamadour and we will certainly stay again should be return to this wonderful little village and historical site.

Room Tip: the junior suite is outstanding

We stayed 2 nights at BW Beau Site hotel. The welcome from Ariadna, Danuka and the young man who looked after the cars was terrific. We had room 15 which was large and overlooked the street and hotel restaurant. The room was good and the location in the middle of town superb. If you are visting Rocamadour, then staying in town is ideal. The restaurant for breakfast and dinner is good but not brilliiant. The staff seems moderately bored with touists who only stay 1 or 2 nights.

Room Tip: Room 15 had space and lovely outlook over street and up to Church and castle.

Charming hotel, in the middle of this medieval town. Rooms are quaint and there is a restaurant and bar. A little different, the hotel is set in two different sides of the street. But that's no problem. It's so conveniently located in the heart of town. Walking and enjoying the sites is so simple.
