Pleasant and clean room overlooking the valley. Friendly staff. Very hot when we arrived so took the car down to the valley about six pm when most of the visitors had left. You can walk up to the town and the church up some steps which is not to bad we are 65years old? Had a nice meal on a terrace overlooking the valley. When we got back to the hotel, we sat in the outside bar and saw a breathtaking sight when all the lights came on in Rocamadour, beautiful.

The most incredible view of Rocamadour across the valley by day and particularly by night will be my abiding memory. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful with recommendations of places to visit things to see. Rocamadour was only a short stroll away and was well worth the visit. The food was very good and reasonable and the room was comfortable though a little on the hot side overnight as there was no air con. Parking was perfect and free just behind the hotel which was easy to find.

A pleasant hotel for visiting as you can walk to church from the hotel but remember that the nice walk down turns into a slow walk back up again, especially if the weather is hot.. Our room had a nice view at night. Staff very pleasant and helpful

Room Tip: overlooking the valley for a view of the lights at night

Location is up the hill from Rocamadour. Not sure if you could get here without a car. Our room was small but comfortable and looked out at the town. Friendly staff and lots to see right around the hoel

Booking this hotel reminded me of the good old days when travelling around France, before the Internet came along. Just a phone call, leaving my name and approximate time of arrival was enough to reserve a room. Of course it was off peak early April, but there were still plenty of people about. We were travelling with our little dog – no change for her and no up front payments either, everything taken on trust. We had a very pleasant room with bath and a lovely view overlooking the mediaeval town and the valley: the trademark view of the hotel. Deciding to go half board we enjoyed excellent meals in the panoramic restaurant but it should be noted these are not off the menu card, but by what appears to be mutual arrangement, nevertheless we were offered a choice of starter and main courses each day, however, if you do want a greater range of dishes then it may be better to go ‘bed and breakfast’ – we liked it so much we booked a second night- can’t say better than that! .

Room Tip: Ask for a view overlooking the mediaeval town and valley

So, we arrived in late November the very, very off season. The location is awesome--as is the view. We were not expecting luxury; however, we did have a few issues with our room. The window had been left open, which we did not realize, so no matter how high we turned up the heat, it did not help. Finally at almost 10 pm, we realized the window was open and after several hours, the heat finally caught up. Our room had not been adequately stocked either with only 1 set of towels and only 2 pillows with no extra blankets. My husband chased after one of the employees who was leaving from their shift and we were able to get another set of towels, a blanket and some extra pillows.

My wife and I stayed for 2 nights on our way south through France. I booked the hotel in advance having looked at its reviews on TripAdvisor and we were delighted that it lived up to all the good points in the reviews. ALL of the staff were friendly and helpful - all youthful (compared to me), attentive to customers' demands and the restaurant was justifiably full every evening with people of every age. It has a good buzz, not noisy but lively.
The position in L'hospitalet overlooking Rocamadour is ideal (it is adjacent the public viewing point) and has particularly special views of the old town in early morning and late evening light when it is at its best. It was no exaggeration to say that whilst there everyone looks frequently towards Rocamadour as the appearance changes with time and light continually. DO ask for a bedroom with a view; do not expect luxury but rest assured you will receive VERY good value for your money.
