Warm room, big enough for 2 adults and 2 children; very big bathroom. Friendly and helpful staff. There is a nice restaurant just crossing the street. We stayed only for one night on our way from Andorra and they offered everything we needed for a short stay. Nothing to complain about... maybe the price of the breakfast: 8 € also for the 2 children is a bit expensive, but the croissants were really good.

We wandered into Tarascone without reservations and spotted the Hotel Confort right on the
river Ariege----a lovely setting. They had a nice room for us, very reasonable, clean and
comfortable and overlooking the river.. We were hoping to visit the caves at Niaux in the morning and the gentleman at the desk said he would call for us in the morning to see if we
could get a reservation. In the morning, the girl at the desk called and called and tried to
find out something using her computer, but no response, so they told us to just drive on up
to the caves and see if we could get in. We did just that, and were added to a tour that
was starting in a few minutes. Couldn't have worked out better. We did not eat at the hotel
but got wonderful pastry from the shop across the river in the morning. Really liked the hotel
and the people running it and would highly recommend it to anyone. Felt very much at home.
Nothing pretentious, just comfortable.

Room Tip: Try to get a room overlooking the river. Mesmerizing.

We needed to book a hotel for 2 nights near Foix at the last minute in June 2009 when all other hotels were fully booked up. What a gem! Such a picturesque spot on the river Ariege which is also the setting for Kate Mosse's "The Winter Ghosts".
We parked in their small car park. Our room (with a large bathroom) was on the side of the building with a view looking to the right onto the river, straight ahead to the Castella Tower, and down onto the courtyard where guests could sit outside.
We had hoped for an early breakfast but the owner only popped out for the croissants at 8 am. But what croissants - enormous - they were worth waiting for! Service was friendly.
(Dinner was taken in a restaurant on the other side of the road, with a window table overlooking the river and mountains.)
This hotel is small and informal, ideal if you are touring and visiting the area.

Stayed here a couple of times on a half board basis although they don't serve dinner in the hotel its served across the road in a great little resto one grumpy waiter and one with Character one gets the tip the other doesn't!!! Food is good for active people and will fuel you for walking or cycling. Breakfast is great but I bet you cannot eat a whole croissant check them out for yourselves. Great little spot for 1 - 2 nights beds comfy and a place to store bikes safely.

Room Tip: Church bells ring on a Sunday morning so if you want a sleep in forget it go out on your bike or for a walk!

My wife and I stayed two nights in mid-March 2012. The hotel is a small building overlooking the river. Reception does not open until 5:30pm which can be a nuisance if you arrive early. We had a second floor room, which was small but adequate, and had a bonus of overlooking the river, with dual French windows also giving a brilliant view of the mountains. The bed was on the small side but was comfortable, and there was a flat screen TV. Wifi was free and parking was available in tiny yard at the rear. The bathroom was small but the shower was tiny and the sliding glass doors didn‘t close. The tiles were a bit mouldy in the grouting but was otherwise clean. The stairs were a bit creaky and there is no lift. Breakfast was of good quality. The manager was polite and helpful and offered some sight-seeing advice. This is an inexpensive hotel and is a comfortable place to stay.
