In a city which has many hotels, this hotel is #10 on Trip Advisor. This was primarily, the reason I booked this hotel for a weekend stay last weekend (mid November).
The location is good.Very central.
I stayed in a 'confort' class room. It's the midrange room between a Classic and Premium.
The double room was small, with fairly basic fixtures and fittings. The bathroom was very small with only a shower no bath. Maybe some people will see this as characterful or typically French. I was disapppointed.
My biggest problem however with the whole stay was the fact that they turn off the A/C in all rooms for the winter months. It's was pleseantly mild during our stay and the room was very warm. Too warm. Uncomfortably warm.
The only way to cool the room was by leaving open the balcony doors. Not only did this have security risks when we were not in the room, it also caused sleepless nights as the street noise vaulted up through the narrow streets.
I did mention it to reception, who to be honest, were not particularly helpful. We were offered a different room, with just windows, but it too had no A/C working and was similar in (small)size.
All in all this hotel was OK at best. Would I return ? No - unless they revised their stance on turning of the hotel A/C in the winter months. There are plenty more hotels in Toulouse which would be better value.
Call me cynical, but it really would make me wonder how this hotel has reached #10 in Trip Advisor ??!!

This is an unpretentious small hotel in the perfect spot for getting around Toulouse. The room we had was comfortable and most importantly, clean. The bathroom had loads of space and had plenty of the basics (towels). The breakfast room was open until 11.30 am at weekends and didnt need a dining room for any other meals as there is plenty of choice within a few minutes walk. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. Good value as well.

The Albert 1ere is ideally located, within walking distance of major center city Toulouse locations. The staff is quite helpful and professional. Our room was small but given the reasonable rate charged and the fact that you are not spending your touring time in the room, we didn't mind. We will definitely return.

We picked the Hotel Albert 1er partially due to it's high position on Tripadvisor.

The staff were friendly and the hotel is in a fantastic location, however our room was very small and the wifi needed me to re-authenticate every fifteen minutes or so.

Nothing at all to complain about, however not really what I was expecting for a hotel which is ranked #8 in Toulouse at the time of writing this.

I would say the main draw of the hotel is the location and the price, rather than the hotel itself or its rooms/amenities

We were very disappointed with the view. Not that we had expected much to begin with but being stuck in a room where you hardly had any light. We had booked more than 2 months ahead, requested high floor and view. They stuck us on the 1st floor where we looked out on to other windows and A/C units. We could not even keep the window open since the A/C units were so loud. Not a place we wanted to spend anytime except to sleep. Which was unfortunate because the room was nice. It was a good size and had a huge bathroom. Breakfast was disappointing as well. The selection was OK for 10 Euro but they kept running out of everything including plates. We only ate there the first morning and afterwards chose to find an alternative. If we were to return to Toulouse I would look at staying in an apartment.

Great location just a couple of short blocks off the Capitol & square where everything is HAPPENING! If you want to walk to shops, restaurants, open air markets, the metro, and museums --this is the place for you. The staff was very professional and helpful when asked questions or directions. They even mailed me a small personal item I left in the room! The room was spacious by European standards, with airtight windows and sleeping curtains to ensure a quiet night.
The morning breakfast was passable, but why eat-in when you're around so many great little restaurants? We feel in love with the Florida Cafe over on the square, and numerous other small places that we can't remember!
Our friends who live in Toulouse recommended the Albert, and we're glad they did!

Room Tip: They we're willing to show us to our room on arrival, and offered to show us another room if we...

One of the worst receptions I ever experienced: first my reservation could not be found, then I was told my room was not ready (at 2pm!) despite the fact that the receptionist had not been able to contact the femme de chambre on the phone, finally I was told that there was no toilet I could use while I was waiting. No apology. At last the room: the description "Hotel de Charme" does clearly not apply to single rooms, at least not to mine, situated on the first floor, very small, and overlooking a court yard with three giant air conditioning machines. The room was clean and the bed ok, but in the bathroom I could hear every word said in the adjacent bathroom. Towels threadbare. Internet reception was very weak. Breakfast at 10Euros unimaginative with packed cheeses. Thanks to the infernal noise of the orange juicer one does not want to linger.
