“Excellent hotel!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 May 2014

We're just back from a 3 night stay in Toulouse for a short break and were delighted with our choice of hotel, which we found thanks to the reviews here! The Pere Leon is a really good hotel; friendly staff, spotlessly clean, lovely rooms and shower rooms. The bed was one of the most comfortable I've slept on and the windows were amazingly good at keeping out the considerable noise from the busy street below. Our room was clean, modern and fresh and had air conditioning and a safe. And a large TV (which we didn't switch on). Toulouse is a friendly city with plenty to see and do, and the Pere Leon is perfectly situated for walking or taking the metro. Lots of good places to eat nearby too. I'm not sure if we'll return to Toulouse (so many cities, such little time!) but if we did, I wouldn't think of staying anywhere else.

Was in Toulouse for almost three weeks with a friend who was there on a business trip. We booked in for two weeks but extended our booking for the rest of our stay because we enjoyed it there.
The hotel is situated right near Esqirol station which makes transport easy, whether from/to the airport, for everyday travel and also for extended trips beyond the city. It is also close (easy walking distance) to Pont Neuf and the Capitole, as well as many shops, sights, cafés and restaurants.
The room we had was a good size with enough space for us (and our large amounts of luggage!) While there are no kitchen faculties in the rooms, the staff were happy to heat up any food when needed, provide us with crockery and cutlery, and open our wine for us. The room was cleaned well daily and staff were available at all hours. Which brings me to the biggest asset of this hotel: their staff.
Not only friendly and professional but they also went well above what I'd expect of them to find us restaurants and bars, and also itinerary help and recommendations which extended beyond Toulouse and into two other cities we went to, Albi and Carcassonne. It was lovely to talk to them whenever we left or returned to the hotel and I'd like to say another thank you to them for their help and for making our stay lovely.
I would recommend this hotel and also would be happy to stay there again.

Excellent location, only 12 minutes from the airport by taxi. Very pleasant staff, very helpful. Our room had a safe, fresh towels and complimentary bottled water every day. A hearty breakfast. This hotel is 3 Star and is Pperfect for a short stay in Toulouse.

Very clean, modern, comfortable and in an ideal location to explore central Toulouse. When we arrived and struggled with our poor French, the lady at reception switched to excellent English and was most helpful in recommending the best nearby restaurants. Part of our time before entering the city had been spent visiting Airbus (two highly interesting tours) and the chef of the restaurant we selected, by coincidence, had cooked for the political heads of state; France, Britain, Germany and Spain (Chirac/Blair/Schroeder/Zapatero), when the A380 was first launched.

Immaculate designer bathroom/shower fittings and wifi connection so useful to keep in touch with business back home. My high floor room even had a small balcony. Next morning we were expecting a typical petit déjeuner of just croissant and coffee, but were delighted to find a stylish breakfast buffet room for residents with a variety of choices (cereals, juices/yoghurt, eggs, fruit, many bakery items etc.) as you would find in an expensive UK establishment. A small friendly hotel, but limited room space has been maximized and clever use of colour is enhancing. An underground car park is just seconds away so it’s ideal as a base for discovering the architecture and cultural delights of Toulouse on foot.

Dear JG-London
It was such a delight reading your review seeing your 5 star rating!
It is definitely a pleasure when the efforts of our hotel directly translate into a great stay for our guests.
We are pleased to hear you enjoyed the hotel, helpful staff and comfortable rooms.
The hotel was completely refurbished in 2012 and as you noticed we did our best to maximized the space in our rooms and use clever colours to enhance our breakfast room.
Indeed we served a complete buffet breakfast with fresh products made every day by the Pastry Chef of the restaurant Le Pere Leon.
We hope to see you again in the future! All the best.

The hotel is very well situated so you hardly need public transport during your stay. Both the room and the bathroom are very clean and have all you need. The staff is friendly and very helpful and although the hotel is situated in a very busy area, the rooms stay very quiet. If there's one small detail that made it less perfect it's the missing of a water boiler to brew your own coffee or tea. You have many possibilities for quality coffee or tea in the area though and it's compensated with a daily fresh bottle of water!

Dear CynthiaVD,
A big thank you for your comment about your stay at the Hôtel Le Père Léon in Toulouse.
You appreciated the very convenient localization in the city centre close to the touristic spots of the town and the public transports. And you're right, the hotel is very well situated.
Also, the very good soundproofing makes the rooms very quiet for a hotel in the heart of Toulouse.
We have noted that our clients would like to have a kettle in their room but in some rooms we don't have enough place but we think about it.
Thank you again and we sincerely hope to welcome you for a next stay in the Pink City.
Best Regards,
Anne LAZZARI

The location and prices are main advantages of this hotel. I stayed only for two nights. My room was modern and I enjoyed the space (I think it was one of the rooms for handicapped visitors). The staff is polite and friendly.
I liked the selection for breakfast even though there was no hot food.
The only thing I was missing was a fridge in the room.

Dear Fergiinka,
My team and I read your kind review and we thank you very much.
We are glad that you appreciated your room and its comfort.
You are right, there is no hot food for the breakfast, just some eggs that you can cook yourself. It is because of a lack of space on the buffet.
And we made the choice to have no minibar in the rooms and to offer a little bottle of water.
We hope to welcome you again for your next trip in Toulouse.
Best regards,
Anne LAZZARI

Spent a short break in Toulouse, and chose Pere Leon because of the many good reviews on Trip Advisor. In most areas the great reviews are justified. The hotel is well located for town tourism, restaurants and a wide variety of shopping. It's also located in front of a Metro station, so very convenient for travel in Toulouse and its suburbs. It has been entirely refurbished and modernised: its finest feature are its rooms. Ours was a standard double which was both large enough and very well equipped in most regards: the large bed was very comfortable, as were all the linens. You could open the window and stand outside to get a view of the streets below - or keep a bottle of water cool overnight (no, sadly, no fridge). The aircon and/or heating was excellent and quiet. There was a desk, free wifi, a free safe and a modest amount of space for hanging clothes. A modern, wall-mounted tv offered scores of channels - although I could not bring up a single channel in English! The high point of the room was the modern bathroom - not large but well equipped, especially the wonderful, large shower: best I've seen in several years in a middle-range hotel. Pere Leon's 3 stars are more than well-earned by the quality of the room. But there are no common spaces, no lounge, no other facilities except the attached brasserie - which is nothing special in a city that has a Brasserie Flo. Friendly staff keep the front desk open all hours. A great hotel if you want to be in the centre of town and plan to be out most of the day. Our rate was 90 euros per night.

Room Tip: I'd ask for a room on the upper floors.
