Clean place, reasonably priced, rooms modern and updated, location a little off the beaten path from the old city but only 15 minute walk. Bonus of having its own car park. There is a Carrefour and a decent cafe within a block away. So all in all very adequate hotel. Very small bar with limited selection and restaurant only open for breakfast. Staff at front desk friendly and they accept Amex

Although this hotel is located about a 20 min walk outside the city centre, it can prove to be a blessing rather than a curse. You have a number of avenues to adventure through on your way to the city centre.

You will discover that you are very close to a number of restaurants (including Sardinian), a nice local bar and one of the best Japanese (yes you heard right) restaurants we have visited.

Your room will be small enough to move around, as will the modern bathroom but the best thing about this room is the shower (note: no bath).

From your room may see a view of the hotel bar courtyard (with empty pond and odd little turtle sculpture) or, like us, the carpark.

Staff will be helpful in a dutiful, friendly way. Nothing will shout a welcoming warmth but efficiency does make a difference and your rooms will be spruced up even if you crawl out of bed late.

Room Tip: We had no problem with outside noise and we were on the 3rd level facing a carpark. You do have to leave the window closed but the A/C is great.

We have stayed in hotel de Brienne twice, the people at the Reception are very friendly and very helpful. The young lady in the breakfast room is lovely.
The location is the best!, it´s just around the corner from restaurant Michel Sarran, the best restaurant we have ever been in France.
Hopefully we will be able to return to Toulouse and stay in hotel de Brienne this September.

We recently stayed three nights at the HDB. We can't fault the staff. They were friendly and helpful.
The location was quiet but a fair walk to any of the main areas and the metro.
The rooms were clean and modern. The bathroom was large by European standards but the glass doors gave virtually zero privacy. Even couples need some space!
Overall a good experience.

Stayed three nights in this hotel. The hotel has been recently renovated; my room had very good fittings and a walk in shower facility. The bedding was very comfortable and the air conditioning worked fine. Some of the TV channels listed were not working but this might have been a temporary issue. The internet was free but slow at times. Two options for breakfast buffet or continental. The hotel is very bright and vibrant. Four star rating according to the sign posted outside. It's a 15 minute walk to the city centre and convention centres in Toulouse. I definitely recommend this hotel to potential guests.
