Nice, friendly hotel in a quiet part of town. Walkable distance to the all the tourist attractions, also very convenient to the Compans Caffarelli metro station. Decent breakfast buffet, no restaurant otherwise. Staff extremely helpful, and particularly patient and considerate given my constant barrage of questions and requests for advice! Free parking accessible through a narrow passageway under the building, but the lot itself is secure and very nice. A good stress-free spot to stay in while you explore the rest of the city.

Great value in a hotel: convenient location if you're driving; well appointed rooms, quiet, and all the personnel were very helpful. It is a long walk into the city center. Immediate neighborhood is safe and pleasant and near the subway line. Breakfast room, lobby, and bar are well appointed. Desk staff spoke English.

Quiet hotel on bus route (2 stops) into the centre of Toulouse. Excellent food in good selection of local restaurants used by the French. Hotel clean with efficient a/c on a hot day. Room had everything needed down to small sachets of shaving cream! Excellent breakfast and polite helpful staff. Will use it again.

Hotel tends to fill up quickly, but if available, I prefer to stay in this hotel. Rooms are comparable with nearby Mercure or Novotel, but cosier and cheaper. Free internet, wifi in public space or cable (available at front desk) in the room. Staff is friendly and breakfast is just great!
Location 15 minutes walk to the centre, but the metro is around the corner. For business travellers this location is absolutely advisable since good to reach for taxis, whereas the traffic in centre itself can be terrible.

This is a great hotel in Toulouse. We stayed 5 nights and wished it could have been longer. The room was spotless, as was the bathroom and the towels were changed every day. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice and plenty to eat. The reception staff were pleasant and helpful and all of them spoke very good English. The internet worked well in the room and there were plenty of TV channels to choose from. I would have no hesitation in recommending a stay here.

Good Hotel in Toulouse. Clean room, good breakfast, safe neighborhood. Has free internet (wired in room works ok; wireless in lobby - does not really work). Good value for money.

I was travelling with a group of other airplane enthusiasts and they were all staying at the Brienne so really didn't pick this one myself as the origanizer of the Airbus factory tour did, but I appreciated his good taste as this is a solid if unspectacular 3-star French hotel. It is located a on a wide but fairly quiet boulevard and offers standard rooms as well as a rooftop suite with good views.

The standard room I was in was approx. 70 Euro a night at the end of April, which is still lower season, and was plenty large for a single traveller. There is a breakfast served on-site for 7 Euro but can't comment on it as we were gone sightseeing and so ate elsewhere. There is a lobby bar for a cold drink on a warm afternoon but you will pay hotel prices, which are noticeably more than elsewhere in the city.

The hotel really isn't near the city centre but Toulouse is a wonderful walking city and the main sights were no more than a 15 minute stroll at a very leisurely pace. Should you ever get lost, the Brienne takes it's name from the nearby Canal De Brienne.
Luckily I was travelling into Toulouse with someone who used to live in the Pink City and so knew where the hotel was and served as guide navigating the airport shuttle, which was good as the shuttle doesn't stop right outside the Hotel Brienne's front door and you have to walk a few blocks to find it. Had this fellow airplane enthusiast not been around I would've found the hotel, though it no doubt would've taken a little longer. The friendly staff does have plenty of local maps showing where the hotel is located and I always had one with me in case I needed it for reference, though fortunately I didn't.

While I generally don't like to compare hotels in Europe to those in North America as this can give the wrong impression in cases, I will make an exception this time and compare the Brienne to a Holiday Inn; clean, comfortable with a few on-site perks and a tremendously good value.
