Stayed there for 4 nights in September. I was in Toulouse for a seminar and choose the place for its location.

Toulouse is a small city and Castellane is located in the heart of downtown. Very very good location!

There are some good bars 50m from the hotel. And the front desk is very helpful too, i felt safe although i was alone. Bed was comfy and sound insulation was great too.

Rooms are cleaned very well if you don't mind old furniture. I'd recommend this place for travellers that are planning to spend time outside and use the hotel for sleep and bath etc.

My only problem was with the blow dryer, unfortunately it was very old and not blowing enough air! Make sure you take one with you if you are planning to stay here.

Hotel Castellane is centrally located and offers parking space in a garage somewhat further down the street (10€ for 24h). The duplex family room was spacious enough for the one night we spent there (83€ booked in advance). The room was simple and old but clean. Breakfast was ok, 8,5€/person and free for the kids.
Since the room was on the upper floor, and there is no elevator, we had to take a few steps with the luggage, but ok, you know that on beforehand.
For us it was ok since we only stayed one night and we were very quickly in the centre for dinner and a short visit.

Room Tip: Rooms on upper floors seem to be less noisy.

I really liked this place last time we stayed, and we've missed out on securing rooms our last few trips to Toulouse. This weekend we managed to get one of their large family rooms - they take 7 people - making this hotel one of the few places where our family does not need two rooms. The room rate is just 120 euro for 7 plus taxes (and ten euro for parking - very reasonable). The sheets are lovely - white cotton, so much better than than horrible beige polyester you usually get in this price range hotel - and the rooms are clean. We were upstairs - which means walking up three flights - no lift. The room is set over two levels, with the parents and bathroom up another short internal flight.

HOWEVER this time we were facing the street and not the courtyard. We had almost no sleep as there were several late night venues nearby with plenty of cars and people and motos until about 1.30. Then deliveries to the shops across the road started from 3am. With the windows shut the noise was better, but the room was stuffy even with the aircon on. Because of the noise, it was one of the worst night's sleep I have ever had in a hotel. Such as shame - everythng else about this place is great - helpful staff, clean, well priced - but the noise! Next time we will ONLY stay if we are facing the courtyard.

Room Tip: Ask for courtyard, or book elsewhere.

Me and my 3 girlfriends stayed here for a weekend and were pleased with our stay. We had a little duplex with a big bathroom and managed pretty well. The room was clean, the staff were ok and it is very well located, only a 5 min walk from the Place de Capitol. The best thing was the price, my friend found some offer on the internet and the room turned out to be really cheap. I recommend it for groups of friends or families with kids.

Clean, decent little hotel. We had a "suite"; meaning small room with a double bed and a sofa/cocktail table that left no room to move. The air conditioning didn't work when we arrived; that was fixed but countless efforts to get the wifi to work proved useless. The guy at the front desk was pleasant enough but just shrugged his shoulders and said the wifi worked for everyone else, even though the pass code failed with all three of our computers. Also, we assumed there would be a lift -- there isn't, so be prepared to lug your baggage up the stairs.....alone. No one to help. An extra $50 or so will get you a bigger room with working wifi, lifts, bathroom amenities and a BBC channel or two in the same neighborhood!

The hotel is not bad, the staff is very helpful and friendly, however, like all the French, did not know or will not speak English. The rooms are small, the bathrooms have no windows, no shower, just bathtub ... At night the heat is incredible, I recommend you to bring water bottles in the room! The cleanliness leaves much to be desired! In any case the hotel is well placed and although there are many restaurants, pubs, bars nearby, double-glazed windows ensure absolute silence to sleep in peace. Be careful about what you booked and paid for on the web because they charged 2 times the money for the parking.

The hotel is located at the heart of the city, which perfect for visiting Toulouse. Though clean, the room was a little too small, but enough for two people.
