We have just spent a very pleasant three nights in the St Claire. It is in a quiet little square just 100 metres off a main street only 5-10 minutes from the railway station, and 5-10 minutes away from the old town. All the reception staff we met spoke English (we can get by in French, but their English was better than our French).
We were asked on arrival if we had any washing that needed doing, which we did as we had been travelling for over a week. A load of a couple of pairs of trousers and half a dozen T-shirts were returned to us the following day and the charge was only 12€.
There were at least 20 restaurants within 150 metres of the hotel, ranging from French, Spanish and Italian, to Indian, Lebanese, Indo-Chinese and Japanese. We would especially recommend La Préférence which is just on the square and which provided us with a superb meal.
If we visit Toulouse again, we would definitely want to stay in the St Claire again.
