Stayed here for one night while waiting to catch another flight. Staff are very helpful and nice, rooms are small clean but a little TLC is needed they look tired.

Breakfast was very expensive for what it was only very basic options and wasn’t very good on the service side. Bread was very poor considering we are in France attached picture of the breakfast do not think it was worth €9. I feel the hotel was pricey for what it was.

It’s close to a nightclub and close bars so it’s loud and can attract the wrong audience.

Very helpful and friendly staff one couldn't fault the service it was exemplar. Excellent value breakfast. Clean and comfortable. Lots of good points notwithstanding my comments following. It's six years since I last stayed in this hotel and regrettably it's changed. The square outside of the hotel appears to attract "winos" which isn't the fault of the hotel but it was noisy during the night. My wife and I didn't find it as quiet as some comments have suggested. The hotel is now quite dated in parts - carpet outside of lift very worn and reading light on one side of bed missing to name just two examples - and needs some TLC to bring it back to the standard it was a few years ago. It's starting to look run-down.

Stayed here for 2 nights in April 2017. The St Claire is located midway between the railway station and the smarter quarter and historic heart of the city. It is also well placed for the Airport shuttle bus's stop, from which the city tour bus also starts.
The hotel is more of a 'bijou' style in which we had a modestly sized room overlooking the square, with a lovely bathroom. There are 4 restaurants in the small square in which the St Claire is situated; the italien being very good but avoid the Comptoir Gourmet unless you're into Maccy D standards of fare. There is a mini Carrefour super market just over the other side of the square, which sells reasonably priced wines, water and the usual items you'd expect from a French epicerie.
The young couple who run the hotel, provide a beautiful breakfast, much of which is home made. They speak good English and were very friendly and helpful people.

This hotel is clean with reasonably comfortable beds. The rooms are small, but adequate for a one or two night stay. Usually hotels like this are good budget options. BUT, there are several features of this hotel that make this a place I would not return.

1) It's not that budget - you can do better in Toulouse for the same price.
2) The neighborhood is not very pleasant - when we pulled up in outside the hotel, I thought we were lost because of the shabby looking facade and area.
3) The hotel's hallway lights do not work reliably which means that you can be navigating them in complete darkness. This sounds minor, but it was really unpleasant to try and climb or descend stairs in the darkness or to unlock the door in the pitch black. It also suggests something about the overall attitude of the owner, because fixing the hallway lights is a relatively minor job, but clearly not one management is moved to do.
4) The daytime receptionist barely speaks English. This made it difficult to figure out where we could park (btw, if you are driving, do not stay here - unloading is difficult as their is no guaranteed parking nearby).

If all the other hotels are booked, and you are considering staying here, it will be fine. You will just pay too much for too little but be otherwise fine.

The main positive for this hotel is its location. There are several excellent bistrots nearby, several places of interest are within walking distance, as is Toulouse Matabiau train station.
Another positive is the staff who are friendly, helpful and chatty. All with perfect English.
The negative is the size of the hotel and the rooms. Everything is cramped. My single room made use of every inch of space.
The room itself was Spartan and threadbare (literally
