Just behind the Digue, this looks unassuming from the outside but inside is quite spacious and busy with a relaxed and appropriately nautical atmosphere. The seafood platter starter was huge and two could have shared it quite comfortably - the smoked salmon was particularly good. For our main course we had steaks which were also good. The owner was very helpful especially as one of us was on a course of antibiotics and had to avoid any alcohol even in food, so she made sure that none of his dishes contained alcohol. Everything was very well cooked and presented and we look forward to going back again when we can enjoy the menu and wine list to the full.

We stayed in Dunkerque for a few days in March - freezing temperatures, icy winds and snowbound on the A16 for 5 hours, so finding this restaurant helped in making up for a disappointing break.
Due to bad the weather, the restaurant was about a third full so service was very good and friendly. We had a set meal for 24 euros each- starters of a small chicken filled brioche/salad, mains of medallions of pork, sauté potatoes & veg, dessert of delicious millefeuille crepe and bottle of Brouilly & coffees. Total bill was 75 euros - quality, quantity and presentation of food was very good and we would definitely return. There were several menus to choose from so there is something for everyone.

Following recommendation by the proprietrix of a wonderful toy shop just around the corner, we have eaten there on several occasions now.
Don't go there for a light lunch....
.....they really know how to fill your plate!
Pleasantly quiet atmosphere, with formal but friendly service from what is as the name would imply, a mainly seafood menu.
VERY good value, and worth finding for yourself.
Oh, and by the way, the Dunkirk/Malo beach is only a stones throw away to sleep off (or walk off) a trully (ful)filling experience

We were lucky to be seated in this obviously very popular restaurant, since we hadn't reserved in advance, and it was certainly the most attractive restaurant in the area. The staff were friendly and attentive up to post dessert. This is primarily a fish restaurant and the fish dishes did look very appealing, but unfortunately not being too fishy ourselves, we went for a meat dish, which was our error since our steaks were pretty average and the salad limp. Moral of the story, if you want fish, this will almost certainly appeal, but our experience was distinctly average.

After a disaster at a nearby restaurant in August we did some homework for an alternative & decided on Entre Ciel et Mer after phoning & geting their menu emailed over. One of our better decisions we thought. Its not a gourmet restaurant but its pretty damn good & staff were really friendly. Nothing was too much trouble we had very good well cooked food from a varied menu. Starters were really good. My wife & I had fish & our friends both had beef fillet - all were cooked excellently. Sweets were, in our opinion, a step down from mains & starters but still quite acceptable. Good atmosphere. Tucked away just back from the main road but worth looking out for!
