This was the prove that not only Brittish people know hospitality. The hotel looks al little worn down on the outside, but the rooms are okay. And by far the cheapest I've ever stayed for in a hotel, and that included breakfast and wifi :)

I was attending a conference and registered too late to get any of the organiser's hotels, which were all in higher categories. When I discovered two days before the event that Transat Bleu had a single room left, I had no choice but to go for it. Given the low rate, I was expecting the worst.
It turned out to be a very good choice. Since the conference was held at the Kursaal, I could walk up there in 5 minutes, while the other attendees had to take coaches to return to their hotels in the city. The hotel is right next to the beach, and it was relaxing to be able to walk there in the evening after a busy day. I had a room to the back, without balcony, which also turned out to be a blessing, since the room stayed cool and fresh (no A/C), and I could not have used the balcony anyway - I only returned to the room to sleep. The hotel has a nice breakfast room, which also is used as a restaurant at noon and in the evening, but they closed too early for me - would have loved to take a beer there after hours. All in all, I am very satisfied with my stay, and given the close proxmity to the Kursaal, would strongly recommend it even to business travelers, for a different kind of experience.

Hotel is located not in front, but very close to the beach (just a minute). We stayed in a small but very clean room with balcony. You get a good french breakfast with baguette, croissant, café au lait, etc. The people running the hotel are very friendly.
There is a good choice of restaurants and bars nearby and public parking opposite (some of which might be for free).
