We were wandering around Lille one lunch time and noticed a large, 'mature' group of french people who appeared to be out for a celebration of some kind. As we were on the look-out for somewhere to eat later, we were interested in which restaurant/bar they were heading to.
We were surprised to see them enter Pubstore as the neon lights, name and 70's frontage didn't look like their type of thing, but we had a look at the menu, and noticed that the restaurant was buzzing, even though the city was quiet (Tues 6th Jan).
So, decision made, we went along later that evening, and although we secured a table, by half nine the place was full and people were being turned away.
We enjoyed a lovely meal - delicious steaks, warm atmosphere and good service.
Try it, and don't be put off by initial appearances
