Arrived on Saturday afternoon and warmly greeted(but not over the top) by Peter and Madelaine who showed us around our gite and the wonderful gardens. madelaine than told us they were going away for the week and we had the garden to ourselves! Garden is an understatement.About 30 yards by 30 with trees bushes flowers and the most amazing view across the valley.Added bonus is that they feed the birds and I was able to carry on with what I do at home! The gite itself is lovely and has everything one could want and I mean everything. It is also lovely and cool if it gets too hot outside(we had 6 days of sun!). The Persian cat was a welcome visitor(I have one) as was the cockerel.Madelaine and Peter can be justly proud of what they have achieved. Dont go further than the bar in the village for cheap 3 course lunch-12 euros for 3 courses inc wine .There is also an excellent restaurant 100 yard sfurher on.t

On our arrival, soaked to the skin, after cycling 20 miles from Dieppe, we were greeted by Peter and Madeleine, who offered tea or something stronger, turned on heating in our lovely rooms and tumble dried our wet clothes. After a shower we went downstairs to share time before dinner with other guests and enjoyed canapés and an aperitif, and some pleasant conversation!
Dinner...well don't get me started. Cordon bleu food prepared by Madeleine and served by Peter, along with great wines incredible value. Great nights sleep and a French breakfast then time to say goodbye. A lovely couple, hospitable, and with a great sense of fun. May have to do the route the other way just to stay again!

Our first stop en route south was a very good choice. Peter and Madeleine welcome us with tea and a fabulous evening meal with copious amounts of wine. They are the perfect hosts and, unsurprisingly, the house and gite were fully occupied. Tremendous value. Cannot recommend highly enough.

We stop here on our way south a few times a year and it is the perfect location with great hosts, Madelaine and Peter who provide and excellent evening with dinner, wine and good company. Rooms are very comfortable and very clean, maybe I shouldn't be writing this as We may find it hard to get a room when we next want to stay :).

1.5 hours from Calais, 10 mins off the motorway we wanted and found a perfect spot. Great communication from the owners (who have perfect English!) by e-mail prior to arriving, drinks and canapes before dinner (8pm) and some fun conversation over four courses of delicious food; a duck main, cheeses and a delicious apple tarte with home-made custard, stick in the mind. Peter knows his wines and we were given a top tip of what to buy cheap in the local Leclerc to take home. Lovely clean room, stunning view over the valley as the sun set and a great 'avenue vert': 60 km of cycle track along an old railway from Dieppe towards Paris and lovely VTT tracks as well provided a great early morning run route for keeping the triathlon training up while abroad. Fresh croissants and local apple juice for breakfast. Loved it and recommending it to all.

Room Tip: Ask for one with a view over the valley. Ours did. I think most of them do! Stunning. Perhaps ask for one on the other side to the church.... There was a bell we could hear on our side at 7am.
