Description: The owners Isabelle and Thierry Lhuillery are strongly attached to the region, which displays lot's of famous specialities. Their cooking is both original and typical. The owners know pretty well the local producers, with whom they have been working for many years. When the ingredients are cooked, it is always in the respect of their original flavour, only spices and fresh herbs are added in order to make the best come out of them. Enjoy eating fresh sea food straight from the coast; try our daily raw marinated fish course, or a slice of duck foie gras flavoured with apple fragrances. Don't miss our Normandy beef and duck breast, or our delicate fish dressed with a light cream dressing. Do not also go by, without tasting our local cheeses such as : Camembert, Pont L’Eveque, Livarot or Neufchatel. And finally to put a pleasant end to this perfect meal try a chaudfroid apple dessert... It will be our pleasure to help you choosing in our wine and cider list the most appropriate beverage.

We had lunch here and really couldn't fault anything. Not the cheapest of restaurants, but food and service were so good that it was worth every penny. Highly recommended.

We had a lovely dinner here our first evening in Bayeux. It is a charming little place. The service was very good, and quite attentive. We had reservations so were seated at a great table by the window. The food was very fresh, well presented and quite delicious. The food certainly did set the tone for all of the delicious meals we enjoyed during our 1 week stay in Bayeux. I am not sure about the other reviews where service was not good. We did not experience this at all. We travel extensively and have high expectations when it comes to dining and we were not disappointed. Reservations were necessary as many people came in to see about having dinner and were not able to get in as they were full. Great location, just a bit down the street from the Cathedral.

I agree with the previous two posts. We visited the restaurant for lunch on 5 July.

With two children, we were hidden away in a side room not to distract other eaters (very few) and truly felt treated as third class customers. The waiters' attitude seemed to reflect a belief that we were lucky to be there, whilst frequently monitoring us whilst we ate (but not to see if we needed anything). We were not made welcome.

As per the previous post, if we wanted a dessert, it was made plain that we would have to order it at the same time as our main. We were reminded of the fact that we ordered a main (as opposed to 3 course meal) several times as some kind of passive reprimand. Even if pretentious service has its place in fine dining (which it doesn't) it wasn't backed by quality service or food.

Drinks orders were missed, the taste of the food forgettable and the vegetables bland and reheated. We ordered a la carte and paid €70 for two mains and a couple of drinks.

A very poor experience such that has prompted my first review of a restaurant.

The food is boring. All plates are presented the same way. Same bland vegetables. We had the duck. Though the duck breast was properly cooked, it had a thick layer of fat. It was drenched in a gravy like sauce with no particular flavor. Watch out for their "menu" ... We ordered the fois gras which was half an order as compared to the a la carte menu !. I have not encountered this in any of the other restaurants we tried in Bayeux ( La Rapier and L'angle Saint Laurent, both of which were quite delightful..) Poor, inattentive service. Had to ask for bread, pour my own wine... All in all, heed the advise of several reviewers, go elsewhere. If you feel compelled to eat here, order "a la carte" or you will feel cheated.
